I used XP up until 2011, and I have a netbook that still runs it well as long as you aren't an idiot when you're on the internet, you SHOULD be able to run XP normally.

As much as i want XP to die, we still have computers at the school i work on, and we don't really have money to buy new ones yet.. I hope that day comes soon.

Windows 7 only needs 1GB of RAM and a 1Ghz processor. It's not going to run great, but there are a few things you can disable to make it run faster

It sometimes isn't possible (or just highly impractical) to do so (in the case of outdated software), but just letting ~30% of computers in the world run unpatched, exploitable software will affect us all in the end. edit: I should probably have read this page before posting.

Can you upgrade to Win7 from XP? Because only other way to update a system without losing data is to buy another HDD for the OS.
