Honestly, most modern OSes are pretty bad. I don't jack off to XP or anything but 7 was the last real OS that was power-user friendly. It's all about anyone being able to use a computer. You're going to be able to jerk off and play Crysis at the same time. -Windows 8 made a start screen that was less convienient for me, took up more space, and installed a bunch of useless shit on to my computer -Every OS X version after Snow Leopard has been "oh hey guys, we took PPC support out because...we wanted to but OMG MOVE YOUR FINGERS ON THE TRACKPAD" -I'd love to use Linux primarily but Premiere isn't on Linux and emulating that big of an application doesn't really work well Watch some chucklefuck reply to this post and say that I could download and install a third party piece of software to make the OS even usable
But it is usable. Considering I used Win 8 for a full year without any third party application for the start menu, it far from unusable. MS should have left the start menu in, but I wouldn't go as far to say the new one is unusable. By and large, they function the exact same. And why would they support PPC anymore? Last PPC based Mac came out in...2005...2006 maybe? Removing PPC support in 2008 was a dick move, but its 2014. And Linux not having Premiere is not a Linux problem. There is no reason why something like Premiere couldn't be developed for Linux. That's Adobe's problem.
Lets see how long XP usage last when banks start to discourage or refuse people on XP (banking trojans cost them money). Here it gets a pretty easy choice as my town and the towns around it no longer have a local bank and you do most if not all online.
It's not even trojans, the version of SChannel (What IE and other apps use to do TLS/SSL) in XP is so outdated, it doesn't support a single secure protocol anymore, the ones it does support have all been broken since it was released. Firefox and Chrome will work since they use different security libraries, but it's still a huge security flaw that will never be fixed.

You're giving me reasons why when the reasons why don't fuckibg change anything. I know premiere could be developed for linux. But it isn't and i need premiere. I want to run old games. I need Powerpc support to do that. It doesn't matter to me if win 8 is usable for you. More power to you, but I need a start menu.
