• PC Gamers are 'arrogant twits' and 'like racists' claims Michael Pachter. Here's why.

The only arguable thing about PC vs console is mouse+keyboard setup vs using a controller, which is nearly irrelevant now considering you can use a keyboard and mouse on PS4 and because using controllers on PC has been a thing forever
Replace the word pc gamers and replace it with millennials and you have every piece of news since 2010
And it doesn't take common sense to realize this accusation should be the other way around. I'll play with console gamers all day from my PC, I'll dominate them. As a console gamer i wouldn't want to play with PC players, though
I'm not going to buy a console because literally the only reason I would want one is so I can buy the new NHL game every couple years, seeing as EA refuses to make any sports games except FIFA for PC for some reason.
We'll build a big firewall and we'll make Nintendo pay for it.
Gamers are the epitome of privilege so no wonder they'd target us. :unimpressed:
I don't know about anyone else, but I use my PC purely because it's more convenient.
So not content with getting people irrationally angry about basically everyone but themselves, the Daily Mail now wants to cause console gamers and PC gamers to hate each other. My god, with Murdoch and his insanity ever stop? Ya need to take him down, or he'll take us all down with him!

Cracker fuck
I know this source is a joke but I just want to rant because. I use PC because the controller form factor is not optimal for FPS's. Maybe if consoles always had the option of keyboards and mice and you can just set any of the buttons to whatever you want, then maybe I would speak differently. If you pitted a low/medium skill player with a mouse/keyboard (using them properly with full arm movements) against a pro, I would argue the person with the mouse/keyboard will be empirically more accurate and be more mobile. The fact is you can't flick 360 degrees unless you have high sensitivity in which case you need to have very very fine thumb motor skills which you could obviously have more control with your whole arm than just your thumbs. Why would I want to switch to a platform that is inherently inefficient to navigate the world? However I do like playing smash bros with a controller because it's what I'm used to, plus that's a platform fighter game and not an FPS, but I'm more into FPS's. Consoles, usually don't have access to choose what server you want to play on for online play.... it seems kind of closed off, maybe I'd rather play in a low ping 30ms server with less players to practice than to play with a full lobby on a 80ms server. And somehow PC's are more close minded and "racist"? Consoles don't let you actually do anything with them, PC's have endless possibilities with (decent) support for backwards compatability. Xbox One plays 360 games now, but 360 doesn't play Xbox original games! And we're racist? I'm not even going to go into the hardware, but the philosophical question I ask is, if the game on the console is laggy, with worse textures and response to user input is not great, and the PC is superior in all aspects, are you really playing the same game?
I mean he's not wrong, there are so many assholes online in PC games
I mean he's not wrong, there are so many assholes online in PC games
there are so many assholes on consoles as well, what's your argument
I mean he's not wrong, there are so many assholes online in games
ftfy.
Are we seriously doing the taking the term "PC master race" seriously thing again?
I've got a PS4 and a PC meant for gaming. PC seems to be finally showing some symptoms from years of overuse, whereas I have to dust my PS4 every time I use it. That was some sweet, clever 400€ I put towards consoles. I'm never going to buy consoles again.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/TBA40dX.png[/t] ???????
Ara to be fair they're basically the same thing. Anything with 'Daily' in the title is something to run away from now, to be fair. (sorry).
Looks like the daily star released an audio recording of what he said. Looks like he did indeed say it.
I don't play on PC mostly because a lot of ports I see of console games are un-optimized garbage and I don't see the point. I'll play a shooter on PC first if I can handle it but literally everything else feels better on a console to me. Helps I don't terribly care about graphics in a game as long as the games fun let alone the framerate as long as it's solid enough and doesn't hitch up.
terrible source + he was misquoted [editline]22nd September 2016[/editline] It was just a joke about how PC gamers wanted to be around like-minded people and nothing else. the correction was made half a day ago too, christ

He was kind of misquoted though
A joke as far as I can tell yes, but that quote is verbatim. (They released the audio since he complained about the article, proving that he lied about what he said later on. It's in the original article.)

Who cares whether it's PC or consoles, or calculators. They're just computers. If there's a game you wanted to play on console, you buy a console. If there's a game you wanted to play on PC, you buy a PC. If there's a game you wanted to play on something but you think it's too expensive of a platform, then you don't buy that platform. Although that animalish instinct - territorialism, is one of the survival instinct, I don't think it's a good instinct to apply for non-basic life need/wants, such as games.
This is what a SGW (Social Gaming Warrior) actually believes. They say friendly competition is harmful. They want to ban competition. When I say 'gg kys' they get mad. They do not understand the PC culture. They are turning gaming into a safe space. I got banned for that exact phrase, it's censorship. They belittle to get their way. Please return to Farmville and Candy Crush. We have these divisions for a reason. This interchange of ideas cannot continue. It is destroying PC culture.
I legitimately cannot tell if this is a joke about how retarded the whole concept of "PC Culture" is or if it is serious, and that scares me a little.
