Its an english term, if your not from Britain you wouldnt of heard it. If you are from Britain....well then you should of heard it, unless you never watch TV or the news.
So I take it that you're not from Britain either? :raise:
Nothing can amaze me after I saw a deaf Polish guy typing in English better than a Canadian in GMod.
Yay! I love it when new words are added to the dictionary. I don't get why you people are whining about words being added.
Yesterday my English teacher used the word 'LOLfest' to describe a piece of coursework in the class. I have lost faith in humanity.
Wag? Wag made it before Lol or Omg? Wtf?
oh fuck fucking fuck's sake they're ACRONYMS
wtf is wag?
A footballers Wife or girlfriend, Usually a slut that doesn't actually love them but wants the popularity.
wtf is wag?
So in summary, a dictionary dedicated to listing all words and acronyms in common use in the English language have added 2 acronyms that are in common use in the English language. I fail to see a problem here.
Nothing is going to change. It's just gonna make a fun way to fuck with teachers now.
Goddammit.
I have never heard anybody say "Wag" in my life.
Awww look at the dog wag its tail.
wtf is wag?
http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/search?searchType=dictionary&isWritersAndEditors=true&searchUri=All&q=wag&_searchBtn=Search&contentVersion=US
OMG LOL, I should totally tell my WAG, they'll LMAO because of it! BRB, TTYL. /homosexual
That's the point, languages are not supposed to be fancy and complex, they should be easy to learn and English is quite good at it. And obviously, if it's necessary new words can be added.
English is one of the most difficult languages to learn if it's not your first language.
XD
wtf is wag?
no it's not, dude.
e: Even then LOL is barely one seeing as how it's often said as l oh l. So in summary you're wrong.
So you stand in the street and go EL OH EL THAT WAS FUNNY instead of just saying it as a single word as lol?
So you stand in the street and go EL OH EL THAT WAS FUNNY instead of just saying it as a single word as lol?
Yes that's exactly what I do because what I meant by often used as is that I do that all the time. Moron.
All those who use "OMG" and "LOL" etc. for any serious purpose (or just out of sheer laziness on a common basis), and those who decided they should be added to the dictionary, need to be tarred, feathered, and hung from street posts like pinatas for children to beat on with sticks... I weep for sensibility this day.:smith:
I seriously don't get why you guys get so worked up about words. The kind of language we speak right now would have looked like absolute garbage to people from 100 years ago. Language changes over time, and each generation uses it differently.
OMG WTF Why not put WTF in the dictionary? LOL
I thought it was In My Honest Opinion
IMHO WTF & WTH should be in there too...or are they? [editline]25th March 2011[/editline]
I thought it was In My Honest Opinion
Just be humbly honest. :v:
Two new acronyms added to dictionary, nerds go batshit. How the fuck does this impact you in any way at all?
Next thing we know, "^_____________^" will be added :ohdear:
How do you pronounce "^_____________^"?
Yay! I love it when new words are added to the dictionary. I don't get why you people are whining about words being added.
Because they are taking out words to make room in the language! "Hello" is no longer in OED.
Because they are taking out words to make room in the language! "Hello" is no longer in OED.
Yeah because hi is shorter and works the same.
