Most small business owners aren't anywhere near the upper tax brackets that will see the greatest change. The small-business job-killing rhetoric is bullshit. Also, the expiration of the tax cuts does little more than restore us to 1990s tax rates. The 90s were one of the best economic times in recent memory, whereas the Bush tax cuts were followed by nothing but economic misery. Clearly tax cuts and economic prosperity are not dependent on each other.
The 90s were not successful economically because of Clinton or the Republican Congress. They were successful because the cold war arms budget practically ceased to exist and all the small businesses that emerged under Reagen got larger.
- The 10% bracket rises to an expanded 15% - The 25% bracket rises to 28% - The 28% bracket rises to 31% - The 33% bracket rises to 36% - The 35% bracket rises to 39.6%
Anyone else find it funny, that the 10% bracket even exists? In most other countries it's 0%, the lowest bracket is like less than 8 grand per year, so students and such barely get taxed if they don't work much. Yet in America they shit on their poor people by increasing their tax bracket the most out of any group.
Fucks sake. Looking for a new country to move to. Any suggestions?
Yet in America they shit on their poor people
No shit.
Fucks sake. Looking for a new country to move to. Any suggestions?
Mexico might have lower taxes than us. Anywhere further up the quality-of-life list from us has much higher tax rates.
Fucks sake. Looking for a new country to move to. Any suggestions?
Canada. Although if you're afraid of taxes, don't move to Ontario where I live. We pay taxes out the ass. But I can get into a severe life threatening car accident, get fixed up and walk out of the hospital without paying a dime, so I'm cool with that.
Mexico might have lower taxes than us. Anywhere further up the quality-of-life list from us has much higher tax rates.
But Mexico is a shithole....maybe New Zealand?
You guys are retarded, the taxes go to pay off your debt and pay for social programs. The more taxes, the better off everyone in the country is.
With this, and the possibility of getting bombed by Iraq, we're just in some nice deep shit.
Fucks sake. Looking for a new country to move to. Any suggestions?
Canada
When will you people get that America hates taxes. Our country's revolution was started in part by over-taxation by the Monarchy. Plus, the Founding Fathers intended the Federal Government to be nothing more but a representation of all the states, which were viewed as independent nations under one banner of unity. My point is, I don't want to give my money away to a government that spends exorbitant amounts of money, no matter who is president. Bush spent money on the war, Obama is spending even more amounts of money on stimulus. When will the spending end? In the past two years, the deficit has gone up nearly 2 trillion dollars.
Bawww The upper class in canada pay 47% [editline]11:16PM[/editline]
Canada
heh
My point is, I don't want to give my money away to a government that spends exorbitant amounts of money, no matter who is president.
Then secede, do it faggot.
You guys are retarded, the taxes go to pay off your debt and pay for social programs. The more taxes, the better off everyone in the country is.
Except the middle class, which get taxed to death and dont get in on any of the social programs.
Then secede, do it faggot.
But last time any secession happened, an entire section of the US's economy was raped by my own ancestor. Yes, I am related to General Sherman, albeit a very small percent. [editline]07:20PM[/editline]
the largest tax hikes occurred under Reagan and you guys seem cookoo for him [editline]04:19PM[/editline] [citation needed]
Fucking really? Anybody who has taken 1st grade history in the US knows that.
Except the middle class, which get taxed to death and dont get in on any of the social programs.
Oh the poor middle class, they're still better off than many and should learn to stop bitching.
But last time any secession happened, an entire section of the US's economy was raped by my own ancestor.
Except the middle class, which get taxed to death and dont get in on any of the social programs.
how do they not get any of the social programs?
the largest tax hikes occurred under Reagan and you guys seem cookoo for him [citation needed]
[Citation Needed] And you thought you could get away with that....
[Citation Needed] And you thought you could get away with that....
Seriously. I was just about to pull out 200+ year old documents to prove my argument.
Fucking really? Anybody who has taken 1st grade history in the US knows that.
well i came into america by high school age so i must have missed that part i'm pretty sure the taxation without representation, quartering, random arrests, and suppression of human rights were the main concern hence why that is mentioned in the declaration of independence tea party rhetoric never existed in the revolution
the largest tax hikes occurred under Reagan and you guys seem cookoo for him [editline]04:19PM[/editline] [citation needed]
What? Citation needed? We revolted because of the tax on like...tea.
how do they not get any of the social programs?
Too rich to get any into any social program, too poor to afford the taxes.
What? Citation needed? We revolted because of the tax on like...tea.
More complex than that.
I'm feeling left out, thisispain. You didn't show a sliver of evidence about Reagen-era tax hikes.
More complex than that.
of course, but point is tax was involved
well i came into america by high school age so i must have missed that part i'm pretty sure the taxation without representation, quartering, random arrests, and suppression of human rights were the main concern hence why that is mentioned in the declaration of independence tea party rhetoric never existed in the revolution
Do you know what no taxation without representation means? The Monarchy was instituting tax over tax as punishment for dissent. The colonists got even more pissed because they had no say in it to stop the taxes from being instituted. The Boston Tea Party was done in protest of the Tea Act of 1773. Not to mention on several occasions, mobs of angry colonists tar and feathered tax collectors for simply doing their job. Colonists were being oppressed by these taxes and other acts: The Hat Act Molasses Act Iron Act Sugar Act Currency Act Stamp Act Quartering Act Repeal Act Declaratory Act Revenue Act The Townshend Acts Repeal Act Tea Act Restraining Acts Coercive Acts Taxation of Colonies Act Prohibitory Act Pretty much everybody was being taxed the shit out of, and to the Mainland's benefit. It is a pure example of colonialism. The colony is economically exploited for the benefit of the home country.
[Citation Needed] And you thought you could get away with that....
yep you caught me oh wait here's a citation http://www.taxpolicycenter.org/taxfacts/displayafact.cfm?Docid=213 towards the end you did see a decrease in marginal tax rates but this was counteracted with an increase in minimal taxes also reagan left with the deficit at its highest in ages
