and then I'll tell him to go sit on a diseased walrus cock.
go in, buy a smoothie for $4.95, on the way out go "oh by the way i'm a liberal" then laugh all the way to your car
Did anyone else think he was talking to a tiny person stood on his table
he might have a gun D:
Proclaim him a fucking retard, get shot, survive, take him to court, win, go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint and wait of the media hullabaloo to blow over.

Then he'd be arrested for murder if he shot you
Well climate does run on a pretty natural cycle and anyone who says otherwise is an idiot
That said
Anyone who doesn't think that mankind is accelerating the process with greenhouse gasses is even worse
I believe "accelerating" is an inaccurate description of just how badly we're fucking up.
For thousands upon thousands upon thousands of years, there's been a natural long-term cycle of CO2 in the atmosphere oscillating back and forth between 180 ppm and 280 ppm. The temperatures matched this cycle almost perfectly.
Right when the Industrial Revolution started and we began pumping all kinds of shit into the atmosphere, CO2 levels started sharply rising. They rose more and more as time went on and we used even more CO2 emitting materials than before.
And now? CO2 levels are at about 400 ppm.
That's not accelerating the process. That's kicking it over a full amplitude higher than normal in a relatively insanely quick time span.
It's like if a ball was bouncing up to the same point over and over again, but near the top of one bounce it suddenly shot up towards the sky, going over twice the height it had been bouncing before. That's not natural.

The best part is there's a delayed effect as the temperature catches up relative to the CO2 concentration in the atmosphere as the trapped energy stacks up.
Highly doubting this is legal.
I'm pretty sure it is, this is the third time I've heard of it happening, and as far as I know, nothing's come of it.
How does he know what affiliation people are? I'd just fucking lie.
The warming of the Earth has VERY little to do with humans. The pollution of the Earth has everything to do with humans though.
The warming of the Earth has VERY little to do with humans. The pollution of the Earth has everything to do with humans though.
Are you really so dense that you think an increase in CO2 levels are having no effect on the environment? Despite the fact that CO2 is now at a higher level than it has ever been before? Despite the fact that we know CO2 is capable of trapping heat?
Then he'd be arrested for murder if he shot you
no shit but he could pull it on you, claiming you were robbing him or something (not a good idea on his part either way), but I wouldn't want someone to pull a gun on me and I'm not risking it around people who are quite obviously "crazy" (eg. hardcore conservatives)
He's just trying to get them to live the liberal philosophy and spend more.
To be fair there was an Ice Age back when we were still riding horses around and fighting with swords. The scientific evidence for man-made climate change is iffy, could just be a natural cycle of Earth.
Technically we're still in an Ice Age. We still have ice caps. I'm not entirely convinced we're to blame, but I certainly believe we're too late to stop it and we have sped it up.
Anyway, back on topic.
Here in the UK this guy would be taken to court for discrimination. There nothing like that in the US? Just seems to be an outrageous and unfair reason.
The term ''liberal'' in America usually refers to anyone ranging from center-right to far left.
Center-Right? Not so sure about that.
Center-Right? Not so sure about that.
It depends on your definition of the center. As a right-winger, I view the center closer towards my own opinions. Znk666 is more left-wing, so his perceived center is radically different than mine.
A moderate liberal, from his perspective, would be right of his center. From my perspective, that same person would be left of center.

I don't think you understand how that scale works, the scale doesn't move.
$4.95 is still overpriced
if I can get 700 calories worth of actual food for $2, why would I pay 2.5x more for a drink only?
What kind of proper food costs $2? "Calories" aren't the only thing you'll need.
Center-Right? Not so sure about that.
Globally? Yeah. America's a hella right country.
Why does it just seem that by conservative, these people actually mean being a huge cock.

By that logic, a Marxist is centrist so long as you think of Marxism as 'your center', whatever that means. And all that would do is defeat any notion of what 'right', 'centre', or 'left' means anyway.

In general though, the political spectrum is really subjective. For example, what Americans typically see as "center-left" Europeans see as "center-right". Europeans tend to be more leftist than Americans, so they see the political spectrum slightly differently.
If there was a Marxist country (assuming it didn't collapse in the first week of course), I'm sure they'd probably see themselves as fairly moderate. From their viewpoint, they wouldn't be far left, but rather the rest of the world far right.
[editline]15th January 2013[/editline]
The political spectrum is really nothing more than a system of comparison. There is no universally agreed-upon center.
oh god, it's one of those "liberal means giving all the poor folk my money and having socialist healthcare" assholes.
Yes, it's a private business. If the Police refused to go to your house or an ambulance because you were a liberal than it'd be illegal but they can choose not to get a Smoothie from him and he doesn't even deny them service all together. You don't need that Smoothie to live.
are they allowed to not serve black people or muslims? "private business" is a stupid excuse for "nobody discriminates against me so i don't care about discrimination"
[editline]16th January 2013[/editline]
"hey its a private business if they want to sexually harass their workers and pay muslims less thats their choice, the free market will sort it out!"

no i wouldn't because i'm not a hypocrite
religion is a choice, is he allowed to tell practicing jews / muslims they aren't allowed in the shop?
Highly doubting this is legal.
wow thats shitty lets get on outlawing that
wow thats shitty lets get on outlawing that
the law can't restrict opinions. if he doesn't want to serve someone because he doesn't like that person's opinion, there's nothing
he can't keep a person out of their shop just because they're brown but if I go and decide to follow the muslim faith then he has every right to not serve me. on the inverse, I have every right to sit in on him until he either changes his mind or calls the cops

you don't really have much right to sit in on him if he's allowed to call the police and have you arrested for it?
