Apparently there was a second black box that Ukraine now has.
Good. Hopefully the cockpit recordings will be able to help further the investigation.
Why is everyone assuming that the looters are just trying to feed their families or whatever There are plenty of well off people who do bad things. People are just dicks
It being Eastern Ukraine and in the middle of a war, I'm willing to bet that the scale tips heavily towards poor and desperate.
Apparently there was a second black box that Ukraine now has.
Unless it's different on this type of aircraft I was under the impression that there a 2 black boxes yet they record different things. Like one is the cockpit voice recorder and one records what the plane was doing. So basically it's not really beneficial to be missing one, you really need both of them.

God knows what the rebels will do with a Black Box that can possibly damn them.
wallets most likely have forms of ID in them can help identify dead bodies you fucking idiot
helping feed a living family > identifying a dead body i dont understand facepunch lol on one hand mandatory organ donation is overwhelmingly popular on this site because "You're dead, you dont need it anyway" yet on the other hand here people are bitching about impoverished people taking money off of dead people like it's such a fucking desecration that a poor person, poor enough to loot bodies, takes something that a body is absolutely not going to need ever again
If you take up arms against a country, steal from those who have no part of the conflict, and down airliners, then I don't think I can feel much sympathy.
I was actually unaware of that. If that's true, I'm distressed again. God knows what the rebels will do with a Black Box that can possibly damn them.
After some research it appears I am correct. All commercial jets are equipped with 2 black boxes, a Cockpit Voice Recorder and a Flight Data Recorder. The Cockpit Voice Recorder only records audio from the cockpit and the Flight Data Recorder records basically everything else such as what switches were pressed and what the engines were doing, it's speed, heading, and altitude, etc. Without both black boxes you won't have the full picture.
If you take up arms against a country, steal from those who have no part of the conflict, and down airliners, then I don't think I can feel much sympathy.
That's fine, they'll be fine without your sympathy. Or at least as fine as you can get in a warzone. As long as stolen things were used to buy necessities like food and water I am okay with it.
helping feed a living family > identifying a dead body i dont understand facepunch lol on one hand mandatory organ donation is overwhelmingly popular on this site because "You're dead, you dont need it anyway" yet on the other hand here people are bitching about impoverished people taking money off of dead people like it's such a fucking desecration that a poor person, poor enough to loot bodies, takes something that a body is absolutely not going to need ever again
This is the silliest comparison I've heard in a few weeks.
This is the silliest comparison I've heard in a few weeks.
so its a great idea to take organs from a dead body so that they can be used to help another person live, but it's horrible to take money from a dead body so it can be used to help another person live??? or is it just the ~silliest comparison you've heard in a few weeks~ because you cant think of anything else
helping feed a living family > identifying a dead body i dont understand facepunch lol on one hand mandatory organ donation is overwhelmingly popular on this site because "You're dead, you dont need it anyway" yet on the other hand here people are bitching about impoverished people taking money off of dead people like it's such a fucking desecration that a poor person, poor enough to loot bodies, takes something that a body is absolutely not going to need ever again
are you a bit retarded or something
The worst part is that the people in that plane has nothing to do with this "war". It's really sad for the people who died in that plane. Fucking separatists.
are you a bit retarded or something
im waiting for someone to actually address it epic zinger tho man
helping feed a living family > identifying a dead body i dont understand facepunch lol on one hand mandatory organ donation is overwhelmingly popular on this site because "You're dead, you dont need it anyway" yet on the other hand here people are bitching about impoverished people taking money off of dead people like it's such a fucking desecration that a poor person, poor enough to loot bodies, takes something that a body is absolutely not going to need ever again
Organ donation should be voluntary, and it's definitely a good thing. Looting is as morally grey as it gets
so its a great idea to take organs from a dead body so that they can be used to help another person live, but it's horrible to take money from a dead body so it can be used to help another person live???
Not if he's an organ donator. Damned, Laserbeams.
The black box won't prove that the rebels were the ones that shot the plane down.
Obviously, since they were incapable and did not shoot it down.
His quote is
"I noticed that I hadn't come across a single wallet with money,
The way I understand is, they took the money off the wallet and left it there. Otherwise he wouldn't have added that last part.
After some research it appears I am correct. All commercial jets are equipped with 2 black boxes, a Cockpit Voice Recorder and a Flight Data Recorder. And on the topic of stolen wallets, I doubt the rebels let a bunch of impoverished people in to look for money and valuables. They looted the corpses, and it looks like they've also been threatening reporters and people that wander near the crash site. This entire thing is just a fucking mess, and I can see it possibly going south very soon.
Clearly you have not been watching the news or keeping up to date on the incident.
It's clearly a shill just out to defend it's motherland. It's post history will confirm that for you.
This is the silliest comparison I've heard in a few weeks.
So you can steal body parts from the dead but not their money? Do you see how silly YOUR statement is?
So you can steal body parts from the dead but not their money? Do you see how silly YOUR statement is?
It's not stealing if they've previously said 'yes you can take my organs when I die'.

The thing is they really don't need to identify the dead bodies, it really serves NO purpose. Its not like you have families back in the netherlands/malaysia wondering what happened to their loved ones. Everybody on board died. If you want to identify the bodies pull up the records for who was on the plane and you can safely assume they are dead, start sending the grief letters. Really the only thing you get from IDing bodies is being able to put them in their own grave, but I somehow don't think that the dead passengers particularly care where they are buried. If the family wants to mourn at a grave site they can set up their own memorial in their home country, no real need for the dead to actually be there. [editline]19th July 2014[/editline] and you know, dental records are a thing too.

If the family wants to mourn at a grave site they can set up their own memorial in their home country, no real need for the dead to actually be there.
I would hope you never organize a funeral. Most people have a place they want to be buried after they die and it's only right to respect the deceased's last wishes in their memory. I, for example, wish to be buried back home in Scotland, in a nice graveyard somewhere in the misty highlands. Or you can just say "Fuck it, dead folk don't care about where we bury 'em and families shouldn't either."
Agreed. The thing is they really don't need to identify the dead bodies, it really serves NO purpose.
so its a great idea to take organs from a dead body so that they can be used to help another person live, but it's horrible to take money from a dead body so it can be used to help another person live???
So if some underground sawbones showed up and started harvesting organs from the corpses and selling them on the black market, you would be 100% okay with that?
Still though, no matter how desperate you are, how could you loot a decaying body of a person that died and not think "I'm going to hell for this".
Well, it's not like they're going to be using it anymore, and I'm sure anyone desperate enough to loot a corpse probably needs it a fair bit more than the corpse.
Why is everyone assuming that the looters are trying to feed their families or whatever There are plenty of well off people who do bad things. People are just dicks
Granted, but we aren't talking about an area of the world that is known for being well off, are we?
