so you're trying to justify bullying people for being different? an equal grounds would have the opposite effect
That's not what he said, though. He said that in order to make people normal, we have to change the social norm (which is kind of an obvious thing when you think about it). Just trying to act different and be proud of it without educating future generations to consider your difference part of the array of social norms will eventually not solve much. To be honest considering how much the unwritten definition of normality changes over generations I think it's safe to say that sooner or later having a different sexuality than hetero will become normal as well. Such changes are made with education and law making.
so you're trying to justify bullying people for being different? an equal grounds would have the opposite effect
Nope. I'm all against it. I'm just saying that bullying "different" people is not a rare occurance, historically too.

Can you guys stop quoting my shitposts?
Can you guys stop quoting my shitposts?
backpedal to the max
I think we should change the definition of 'normal' for a human being to just being human
I'm fine with the current definition because it always allows for improvements without giving too much credit to weirdos, sociopaths and sadists.
backpedal to the max
No he's just really stupid.
I'm fine with the current definition because it always allows for improvements without giving too much credit to weirdos, sociopaths and sadists.
What, might I ask, is the definition of "normal"?
i don't care about gays what i do care about, are the fucking atrocious parades and propaganda
http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Homosexual_agenda ??
What, might I ask, is the definition of "normal"?
Someone who fits the social norms of a specific society. Said social norms evolve with time.
I think the thing is pride parades aren't really done in protest or anything The problem is that we society assume pride parades are gay pride, and the people behind the organizing of the parade assume its gay pride, which is incredibly stereotypical and not accurate at all pride parades are more or less a celebration of the breaking down of gender norms and of the human body, showing that there is a community between the lesbian, gay trans, drag, etc outcasts of society Perhaps at one point they were "gay pride" exclusive, and you can bet there are pro-gay pride people at a parade but really its more or less a circus of sorts rather than anything over-serious, kind of like a fun thing to see or do. They really need to change the stereotyping behind pride parades to be less about "gay pride" and more about having fun and celebrating people who don't conform to the gender norms. Because majority of gay people on earth are rather gender-normal, and pride parades aren't really about that at all even if they have some people apart of them that are. Still I do wish that people would stop showing up to them wearing nothing but bondage gear and shit. A lot of the "gay community" use pride parades as an excuse to do lewd acts in public and its completely retarded.
Social norms, y'know.
Social norms can go fuck themselves.
This is disgusting and inhumane. It's truly saddening to see that we live in a world so backwards as this, although it should be motivating us to take steps to ensure that we progress forward in a logical manner through science and proper education. It just seems like an impossible challenge sometimes with the constant bigotry and prejudice that we witness on a day-to-day basis, but things have a way of working out the way they should in the end.
I am sure they use the same words to describe gay people.
Putin is trying to 'traditionalize' the Russian population in order to spur population growth, I'd guess. Plus his people support it so he can't go wrong in his opinion. This wouldn't fly if Russians were not so homophobic.
Social norms can go fuck themselves.
~s0 r3b3ll10us~
Social norms can go fuck themselves.
now that's edgy. they'll continue to exist, no matter how hard you reject them.
Social norms can go fuck themselves.
By refusing social norm you just step into another norm.
Man sometimes i wish i was gay just so i could spite these homophobes by my mere existense
so, how will the adoption thing effect already adopted persons? i fear for my life if i have to get sent back.
now that's edgy. they'll continue to exist, no matter how hard you reject them.
not all social norms are bad, but some do legitimately put down certain groups of people because of mainstream social or cultural ones that are questionable at best
~s0 r3b3ll10us~
this is massively ironic, considering that you mass-rate anything related to sexual or gender minorities dumb. if you're actually serious, then this speaks tons of who you are; an example of sound social norms/standard would fall into being respectful, and not putting down others
so, how will the adoption thing effect already adopted persons? i fear for my life if i have to get sent back.
How old are you and when were you adopted ? Chances are you're way old enough to not have to give a shit.
How old are you and when were you adopted ? Chances are you're way old enough to not have to give a shit.
17, i was adopted in 1998 at the age of 2
Social norms can go fuck themselves.
Right. Societies would function so much better without these stupid fucking social norms. Wait. What societies?
we are humans too :(
Also, the article you're all arguing over, is complete bollocks. Because while all the descriptions in the law that's supposed to "ban gay propaganda among minors" (more or less accurate translation of an actual official name of the law in question) are extremely vague, it doesn't allow to detain people who "police officers suspect of being gay or pro-gay, or just being accused of being gay". That is bollocks.
17, i was adopted in 1998 at the age of 2
I think living 15 years in the US is enough to make you a US citizen.
To be honest, as a homosexual, I think they should change a few things in the gay pride parades. On paper, the parades sound like a great, but when it's put to practice you get people claiming it's propaganda or naked men dancing in the streets. The message sent out is along the lines of "Hey I'm comfortable and happy with my sexuality. The world would be better if you were too", but some people misinterpreted it as "HEY LOOK AT MY DICK I'M WEARING LEATHER SO YOU CAN SEE IT CLEARLY". The world isn't mature enough and is too stuck to their ideals that make them feel safe. In my opinion, the gay prides should be shifted towards "Hey I'm normal just like you, so why treat me differently?" so less people would get the wrong idea of homosexuals and more people would understand the actual message.
the point is that this article shows that there's still deeply rooted hate towards certain minorities in certain dominant cultures, regardless of what the implications are
The article states something that is simply untrue. I won't argue about deeply rooted hate towards anyone, considering that I know it's present very diversely throughout my country. For example, in place where I live, no one gives a fuck. Gay clubs (multiple) are functioning, welcoming everyone, and haven't been attacked once. Hell, a lot of straight people actually go there to have fun because these places are almost free of overly annoying shitheads, unlike normal nightclubs. We have a gay community that is yet to face any complaints. For Moscow, SPB and other places, it's diffirent. Hell, about gay clubs in my city, a lot of straight people actually go there to have fun because these places are almost free of shitheads.
Equal rights aren't a joke though. If there is anything worth fighting or dying for in the world it is equality.
