Oh my gosh zeke, now I understand. Thank you for showing me the way. Now I can embrace who I really am, a homophobe!
You can be as flippant as you want about it, the fact remains that you called gay people faggots. Anyone who thinks that's ok holds no respect whatsoever for gay people.
I think what Scot meant was it looks that way from a certain angle to a lot of people, maybe there's a slight miswording/misunderstanding
Do you know what PHOBIA means? Or we are going to start calling windows, doors and doors, windows?
I don't like the way they display their "pride" (Why would you be proud of being homosexual, if after all, it's not your fault nor something weird/strange?) with all those costumes and stuff. No matter their gender/orientation.
But I also don't have a single problem standing next to or speaking with someone who's an homsoexual. Shit, Im a Half Homophobic!
Homophobia is the irrational fear and rejection of people who are homosexual. Period. Saying you don't like a certain aspect of an homosexual "pride" parade does not constitute homophobia.
DON'T LIKE != FEAR
english isn't greek, silly pants
Well it can only go worse, you guys ain't gonna see anything pro-gay happening in Eastern Europe for the next 50 years I guarantee
then why on earth are you arguing this?:
Because people can have different opinions without being against you ?
This guy has the same point but put it a bit more clearly :
To be honest, as a homosexual, I think they should change a few things in the gay pride parades. On paper, the parades sound like a great, but when it's put to practice you get people claiming it's propaganda or naked men dancing in the streets. The message sent out is along the lines of "Hey I'm comfortable and happy with my sexuality. The world would be better if you were too", but some people misinterpreted it as "HEY LOOK AT MY DICK I'M WEARING LEATHER SO YOU CAN SEE IT CLEARLY". The world isn't mature enough and is too stuck to their ideals that make them feel safe.
In my opinion, the gay prides should be shifted towards "Hey I'm normal just like you, so why treat me differently?" so less people would get the wrong idea of homosexuals and more people would understand the actual message.
Nice try though, much better than insulting or keep saying the same thing.

in what way don't you 'need' gay people?
in what way are you more needed than the average homosexual dude?

greek has radically different rules than compared to english. english is more loose and has more freedom. arguing that "homophobia" cannot be used to describe hatred of a sexual minority is dumb, because what point is there in arguing semantics

Homophobia is an english word
When words transition into another language they don't have to continue following the rules of the original language. Outside of a medical context, *phobia can mean a repulsion or hatred in English. Words change.
Could just use "bigot" or "asshole" instead of homophobe if it really bothers you though.
Am I the only person wondering why an anti-gay-pride-and-public-nudity person such as yourself was at a gay pride parade taking photos of half-naked men?
"oops I accidentally used a slur"
That would be one hell of a miswording.

So, saying that you don't like a certain aspect of a gay pride parade constitutes homophobia, understood as hate/fear/rejection of homosexuals?
Im saying that the meaning of homophobia has a certain emphasize/meaning, in which DON'T LIKE can't go in.

I don't understand why you want them out. They don't affect your or anything. The average homosexual has as much impact as the average heterosexual, with the exception of sexual preference, whereas you have more "competition" when looking for a mate when put up against a heterosexual male than a homosexual male.

I don't mean that women are trophies or anything, I'm saying that it's unlikely that a woman would show love interest in a homosexual.

You know what he meant, don't be so passive-aggressive all the time. His point was pretty clear and you're flipping your shit over a single word. Please stop arguing about semantics.
Homosexuality is not normal. I guess next step in USA/EU will be sex with animals and kids or with something else. And if you think that this is normal too...

You know damn well what they mean when they say homophobic, stop arguing semantics just because you can't argue at all.
There's a reason arguing semantics is generally frowned upon, it's just a way to dodge away from the current argument.
I thought the ban was on LGBT activism, not homosexuality.

Please I am curious to why you think this
Russian always have a bad history, and this is not going to improve their reputation... time to put them down if they going to act like dogs infected with rabies.
Ok so picture yourself the middle aged man/woman that is still indecisive about wether or not gay people should be able to adopt children.
This person has no hate toward them, she is just concerned about what a family of 2 men/women could do to a child's education.
This person has seen both side of the argument throught the media.
Now tell me, what is the best way to convince that person that there is no reason to fear for such thing?
While there is no foolproof method, I'm pretty sure that doing something like that:

isn't going to do any good to convince that person. It's going to do the exact opposite.

I'm only half surprised considering Russian people seem to have a habit of educating kids to be homophobic retards.

Gay people cannot be held responsible for other peoples' judgments about them. And how many people do you think are genuinely on the fence to the degree that would be necessary for them to change their mind because of a parade?

I agree. If it isn't stopped people will be marrying chairs, cupboards and their nicolas cage waifus in just a few years.
