Also, no need for unnecessary slander. You'd be surprised how much editing goes into shit like this.
Actually that is a negative thing. Too much editing goes into crap like that. Waste of manhours.
PewDiePie getting his own sitcom/big merchandising/etc. Dear God, the thought alone sucks out any joy and humor in my mind, eugh.
I talk to him on a regular basis and he's told me he's gotten offers to do shit like that before and he's turned it down for the same reason he's turned down getting an editor to free up time. It wouldn't be the same. He wants to be a guy who plays games, he doesn't want to be a massive sellout. Only thing he's mentioned wanting to do is start his own network so he won't have to put up with the shit that Polaris/Maker gives him. You might think they give him special services for being the #1 YouTube channel and all, but they really don't. Every network treats every partner like shit, regardless of who you are.
He wants to be a guy who plays games, he doesn't want to be a massive sellout.
Honestly, if he doesn't want to be a sellout then why does he resort to tactics like misleading/attention whoring thumbnails and caps lock video titles to gain the attention of viewers
Honestly, if he doesn't want to be a sellout then why does he resort to tactics like misleading/attention whoring thumbnails and caps lock video titles to gain the attention of viewers
I'd ask him myself but he's busy on Skype. I'm not sure how any of those make him a sellout, though. It's more of a strategy to reel people in. Colorful thumbnails and caps-titles are eye-catching. It's essentially the same thing newspapers do. And it's probably a bit of a tradition now, since he used to do it in the past. And it's fun. Another reason he doesn't want an editor, he loves making thumbnails. I mean who doesn't love fucking around with Photoshop for an hour? v:v:v He doesn't do it as much nowadays though. It's usually completely related to the game itself in the thumbnails nowadays, with the "wacky editing" thing being more occasional.
Are you large enough to have any major difficulties with YouTube as a service?
You don't have to be large to have difficulties with Youtube as a service.
You don't have to be large to have difficulties with Youtube as a service.
I'm not talking the occacional video-upload problem though, I'm talking your entire channel being put into limbo over legal issues for a minor miscalculation in the content ID system. :v: If your channel is large enough, that's going to be a problem. If you're a small problem you won't run into problems like that and your perception of the network will be a bit brighter. My point is you haven't experienced any problems with Polaris because you haven't had any significant problems yet. I'd say he's pretty big.

I can understand being upset if Polaris is unhelpful about the content ID system but I wouldn't call that "treating them like shit" I've had videos marked as spam before, and Polaris hasn't been able to do shit about it, and I'm a bit upset about that, but I blame Youtube for that, not Polaris.
Is that a problem with Polaris or a problem with youtube? I can understand being upset if Polaris is unhelpful about the content ID system but I wouldn't call that "treating them like shit"
It's a problem with both. It's a problem with YouTube for having a broken system, it's a problem with Polaris for not being able to set things straight. Content ID and legal things are entirely on the networks hands. That's why they exist in the first place. And it becomes shit-treating if it happens repeatedly. I for instance am on TGN/BBTV. Their support is rude, unhelpful, and blatantly lie to their partners. According to the people I know in Polaris, they do exactly the same there. [editline]26th March 2014[/editline]
I've had videos marked as spam before, and Polaris hasn't been able to do shit about it, and I'm a bit upset about that, but I blame Youtube for that, not Polaris.
But that's the thing, that's Polaris job to fix. The reason networks started popping up is because YouTube wanted to outsource the responsibility of channels and monetization to make it easier on themselves. If your video is flagged for spam or gets taken down by content ID, that's your networks responsibility to fix, since your channel is essentially in their custody.
I guess I shouldn't argue about this since I haven't had any real, major problems with Youtube. I will say it's unfeasible for a network like Polaris to fix every flagged video and content ID that a channel gets because they're partnered with such a massive amount of channels, and because networks don't have any more power communicating with Youtube than a regular Youtube partner does, unless there's a technical issue. The problem is Youtube is a piece of shit regardless of whether you're partnered with a network.
That I can agree on! For the most part, stuff like that is a communications problem. Networks kinda take on more responsibility than they are capable of actually doing.
Lewis can be a Disney princess now too!
People are sensationalizing the fuck out of this Disney buys a lot of shit nowdays but doesn't really fuck with a lot of it. Marvel is a prime example of that. If anything, Marvel has flourished under their ownership. Even if they do fuck around with them I doubt the content creators themselves are gonna put up with it, at least the ones that people really care about.
I'd imagine Disney is making more of a move into internet video.
Maybe they'll finally fucking release some of their original saturday-morning cartoons for public consumption. I STILL want good-quality Extreme Ghostbusters, damnit.
CaptainSparklez is also Polaris, or Maker Studios, btw [editline]27th March 2014[/editline] So he's another reason for the price being so high.
