New poll shows Hillary's lead shrinking versus Donald Trump

Polls are meaningless this far out. I've said this every time someone points to them, since anything could happen between now and November to swing the election either way.

People keep saying this and it's garbage. Her lead over time against trump is shrinking, that's not something to brush off as "well Hillary hasn't lost yet." The point is that these give you a good idea how things will be going into the general, and it's a bad sign.
Buffoon Trump > Crooked Hillary.
Crazy Bernie is gonna win
I'm not trying to imply Trump will lose come November (even though I do believe that), he could possibly sweep the election. Or Hillary could sweep the election. Or both could die of a heart attack in September. My point is, looking at election polls this early is absurd and impossibly inaccurate to the what reality will be in November.
This is completely incorrect. Polls have predictive power otherwise there would be no point in polling at all. No shit the numbers are going to change by November but the fact that Trump is so close is at least cause for concern.
It seems like when polls indicate Hillary's lead people take it at face value but when polls suggest Trump is closing in then they dismiss and excuse those polls away. These polls are telling us not to underestimate Trump like he has been this whole race.

I prefer 'Dangerous Donald'. I think it gives him some razzmatazz.
Trump is going to start dominating Hillary.
If she is shrinking now, it can only get worse for her when they directly confront and the voters that are only voting for her namesake are going to start seeing her drawbacks get magnified like the FBI investigation.
Trump can't really get any worse in most peoples eyes.
This is an online poll, if you look at some of their data it looks like its pretty skewed. I wouldn't really panic/call it for trump on this
Maybe I don't know anything about demographics but I doubt 1/3 of the nation is actually independent.

It's not like this is the first poll with narrowing margins.
Something I've noticed is how much people buy into the Trump rhetoric. It's pretty remarkable. I remember a few months back johnfischer89 or whatever was basically talking through him.
I don't get it. What's the point of mimicking a politician's weird lingo to such an extent?
I mean, I think that FDR was more or less a swell guy, but I don't go around talking about nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terrors which paralyze needed efforts to convert retreat into advance.
True enough, I think its actually the thought that trump might be president and people that actually want him to be, even here

Didn't find anything about the specific method used, if it's an on-site poll, then yes, it's useless, but if they used a representive online panel then it's probably far from useless.

Crooked Hillary is just a way to poke fun at her
It's basically the same thing as the wicked sick drumpf meme

It's Useless:
The NBC News|SurveyMonkey Weekly Election Tracking poll was conducted online May 9 through May 15, 2016 among a national sample of 14,100 adults aged 18 and over, including 12,507 who say they are registered to vote. Respondents for this non-probability survey were selected from the nearly three million people who take surveys on the SurveyMonkey platform each day. Results have an error estimate of plus or minus 1.2 percentage points. For full results and methodology for this weekly tracking poll, please
Except drumpf was a joke made up by a comedian
Crooked hillary, lying ted, little marco, and crazy Bernie are official trump campaign soundbites
If hillary was going around talking about "vulgar donald" on twitter it'd be just as dumb

Trump honestly uses the most uncreative nicknames.

The drumpf thing is stupid, but it wasn't put out by Clinton herself.

They're reality TV names. They're supposed to be simple so that mongoloids will understand and repeat them.

You'd think he'd have used something that rhymes so it's easier to remember then. I guess not too many people would understand Shillary though.
The nicknames Trump uses seem to work fine.

The point is to give them a simple character. Hillary is crooked, ted is a liar, Bernie is crazy, marco is little.
It doesn't matter if "lying ted" is a memorable name, what matters is to frame him as "the lying one". It's reality TV 101.

This entire election is an embarassment

And Trump is stooped. It may not show now but in the debates hopefully she will show how dumb he is but idk if they will really have any sway on this election
Crooked Hillary doesn't even rhyme or alliterate and that makes me mad

No political candidate is any one thing. Trump is many things, Hillary is many things. Anyone who tries to sell you a simple caricature of themselves or someone else is just trying to manipulate you.
Trump has displayed stupendous ignorance of politics and government, but a terrific aptitude for demagoguery and showmanship. He isn't just "stupid" or "smart", he's lots of different things. Like all human beings.
I'd still probably end up voting for Hilary depending on how shitty of a campaign they both run in the generals. But there is a lot of time between now and then.
I'll bet any "dirt digging" Donald does will work to Hillary's advantage, since he'll likely bring up even the most dubious rumors, and she can just ask him what ever happened to that incontrovertible evidence that Obama is a secret Muslim he had.
I'm willing to bet there's some shit in Trump's tax returns, given how hesitant he is to release them.

Sen. McConnel is also calling to release them saying it's "tradition".
