but this has fuck all to do with transgenderism
a male doesnt want to become a women so he doesnt take estrogen???

I'm almost 100% positive you have no idea about the intricacies of gender dysphoria.
Nice from Biden. Now to hope this is actually what he thinks and not just demagogy to get more voters.
why would they get female hormones if they want to be a male and just have lower testosterone
why not get testosterone
its almost like you have absolutely no idea what youre saying
Jesus fuck, That's what I'm saying.
"Why not just take testosterone if you have low amounts of testosterone and don't like the idea of bring a woman?"
Jesus fuck, That's what I'm saying.
"Why not just testosterone if you have low amounts of testosterone if you want to be a male"
but thats not what anyone else is talking about??
??????
literally nobody is talking about males with low testosterone and we have no idea why youre talking about this

how do you even grammar
Irrelevant question but isn't it a bad idea to take testosterone if you're a male because it usually leads to very shitty results ?
Yeah, if you can't handle the effects then there would more negative side effects than good ones.
That doesn't even mean anything.
One of the common side effects is aggression and a higher sex drive. If you can't handle these effects in a healthy way then these would be very negative.
I meant physically rather than psychologically.
I've seen a few people taking growth hormones. It's probably completely different from testosterone but they had a massive fucking forehead, barely any hair and their body looked like an oversized gnome's.
Yeah I think testosterone builds muscle mass, and causes skin to oil up.
Those are the only two physical effects I really know. I would just google your question.
Wait, so you're advocating people just slamming some testosterone, when you have no clue what it can do to someone?
That's why I included in one of my posts "Ask your doctor to see if it's right for you"
why even reccomend it if you're not educated about it
this is not how it works
After reading some articles, Both treatments have negative side effects, but it seems that it really depends which side effect you prefer. Psychologically, it's more of a choice.
Would you rather be extremely depressed or extremely angry?
Physically, it's also more of a choice.
Also ganerumo, the people you were talking about were taking growth hormones. That causes very large foreheads. Testosterone should increase the growth of hair by a shitload.
I do respect one's decision to switch genders but for me I just prefer the side effects of the Testosterone medication.
do you ever
EVER
come into these threads knowing what you're going on about

This isn't naturally possible as a man dude
Testosterone is the substrate for estrogen synthesis in men.....
T converts to E via aromatase
I fail to see how taking testosterones can make you grow more hair.
I don't mean facial hair or pilosity anywhere on the body, I mean actual hair on your head.

I don't understand any of that sciencey shit but it's probably correct

please stop talking about this
you are making leaping generalizations about hormones you know nothing about
getting on Testosterone doesnt make people extremely aggressive lmao
and getting estrogen administration doesnt make people extremely depressed either

hello i am going to recommend a potentially lifechanging series of medications despite not knowing what the hell i am talking about and not being a medically or psychologically qualified doctor, please listen to me as if my statements are pure fact from the mouth of jesus h. spaghetti tin himself.
They can take either testosterone or estrogen if they feel like they're a woman.
If they don't like the feel, they can take testosterone.
If they fully support this change, they can take estrogen.
Except it's not that easy. When you feel the idea that you want to be a different gender, no one will decide to suppress those feelings through medication.
So um yeah could someone a bit more qualified than ROLFBURGER answer my question
That's why I included in one of my posts "Ask your doctor to see if it's right for you"
ok so you don't really know what you're talking about but you're just taking wild guesses based on random shit you've seen on the internet and ultimately advising people to "ask a doctor" lol way to post
Estrogen doesn't cause depression, the serotonin makes you more emotionally unstable.
Also testosterone may not make you extremely angry, I was just trying not to be bias.
I don't think you know what bias means either

Head hair is a complicated thing.
As far as we currently understand it, Male Pattern Baldness is caused by androgens (testosterone, but its not actually testosterone thats responsible in this case, it's a much more potent androgen testosterone converts to called DHT), so increased levels of DHT in a genetically susceptible invidiual would likely accelerate male pattern hair loss, not hair growth. DHT inhibition halts hair loss and even causes regrowth in some individuals so its safe to assume that testosterone itself seems to have little to no effect on the hairline.
Androgens do however promote masculine hair growth like crazy (beard, chest etc)
