Keeping him alive untill he dies is cheaper than executing him.
Not really...
No, it's not. You're saying supporting his life for the next 30-40 years in prison is cheaper than injecting him with three drugs?
Appeals cost money.
Appeals cost money.
Still much more than killing the offender.
So? Murderers might be suicidal. What's the difference?
This is the only argument for keeping them alive that I agree with. Sometimes it's just better to let them rot away in prison, but for mass murders you have to kill them off to keep the general public safe encase they escaped. I have to go to the doctor, fuck.
Please tell me you're being sarcastic

"Using conservative rough projections, the Commission estimates the annual costs of the present system ($137 million per year), the present system after implementation of the reforms ... ($232.7 million per year) ... and a system which imposes a maximum penalty of lifetime incarceration instead of the death penalty ($11.5 million)." --California Commission on the Fair Administration of Justice, July 1, 2008 Recent Cost Studies A 2003 legislative audit in Kansas found that the estimated cost of a death penalty case was 70% more than the cost of a comparable non-death penalty case. Death penalty case costs were counted through to execution (median cost $1.26 million). Non-death penalty case costs were counted through to the end of incarceration (median cost $740,000). (December 2003 Survey by the Kansas Legislative Post Audit) In Tennessee, death penalty trials cost an average of 48% more than the average cost of trials in which prosecutors seek life imprisonment. (2004 Report from Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury Office of Research) In Maryland death penalty cases cost 3 times more than non-death penalty cases, or $3 million for a single case. (Urban Institute, The Cost of the Death Penalty in Maryland, March 2008) In California the current sytem costs $137 million per year; it would cost $11.5 million for a system without the death penalty. (California Commission for the Fair Administration of Justice, July 2008)
http://www.amnestyusa.org/death-penalty/death-penalty-facts/death-penalty-cost/page.do?id=1101084 It's true, the death sentence costs more. Another reason why it should be abolished (apart from the fact that the costs should never play a role when it's about a human life).
I don't particularly care about execution, but I think life in prison is a much worse punishment than giving them sweet release of death. And while we're at it, we might as well put them to smashing rocks with hammers or whatever so they're not just sitting there doing nothing.
yeah I live in the city the procecuted him in
I find it ironic that people on here frequently go around spouting "this bitch deserves death" at things such as serial murder, jack thompson, people murdering animals, etc and then there's a guy who murders 10 people and everyone is up in arms saying that the death penalty is baaadddd Personally I find the death penalty to be acceptable, only under certain circumstances. We should retain it but restrict the qualifications. God it takes forever to reply on an iPhone
Pretty sure innocent people are executed a lot more often than death row inmates escape to kill again.
And what about all the organs of executed people that makes transplantees go psycho?
And what about all the organs of executed people that makes transplantees go psycho?
You are crazy.
That's not ironic, that's different people posting on a forum with thousands of users, dorkwinkle.
true I don't keep exact track of the users saying that stuffs the community as a whole though seems to be like that [editline]02:48PM[/editline]
And what about all the organs of executed people that makes transplantees go psycho?
omg DOCTOR THE KIDNEY IS TELLING ME TO KILL PEOPLE

I could go down to home depot and get enough wood and rope to kill many a' man for less than 100 bucks. On second thought, forget the wood we can just use a tree. :clint: /sarcasm
Burn him alive!!!
And what about all the organs of executed people that makes transplantees go psycho?
Are you being sarcastic?
Burn him alive!!!
If we're going to get creative like that, why not draw and quarter him?
Is this going to be televised? And if so where could an English person see it :)
Is this going to be televised? And if so where could an English person see it :)
Executions are not televised. They got reporters and other people as witnesses to watch the execution. That's it.
If we're going to get creative like that, why not draw and quarter him?
Imagin the shit we would get f we let them choose the way they wanted to die? People would be getting launched to space, riding atomic bombs, and so on.
Imagin the shit we would get f we let them choose the way they wanted to die? People would be getting launched to space, riding atomic bombs, and so on.
Like that one twilight zone episode. The one with that guy who got the other guy stuck in a room with him with a bomb.
Imagin the shit we would get f we let them choose the way they wanted to die? People would be getting launched to space, riding atomic bombs, and so on.
First thing that went to mind was the Three Stooges asking to die "by old age" in one skit, lol.
Even though he did horrible things, I still don't think he deservs to die. They should give him life sentence in jail instead.
Would you rather pay more taxes to feed the scum in the prisons or kill the ones we can and open some space? Bo fuckity woo, we killed someone who killed 10 people. I my opinion we should kill everyone who's committed murder. Hang em' out side the courthouse.
Executing them is cheaper in the long run. It costs a lot more to house and take care of an inmate for the rest of his life than it does to execute him.
Executing them is cheaper in the long run. It costs a lot more to house and take care of an inmate for the rest of his life than it does to execute him.
ment to rate late. Fuckig rating icons don't always show up on iPhone
firing squad would be cheaper
Ten people murdered for no reason at all, and you're angry at him being executed?
You're sinking down to his level.
