This joke is old and unfunny.
Amd cards now run super hot and sucks down a ton of power unlike Kepler cards from nvidia which run cooler and more power efficient than AMD
With the new cpu architectures being the same that PCs use, wouldn't that make emulating games a hell of a lot easier?
Also PC gaming through AMD should become more interesting when they release their new steamroller architecture.

there's not gonna be much interest really, most games will be multiplat like last gen

pc games suck u buy a console for $400 and it lasts like 7 years and games on pc dont even look better than them i feel bad for people that buy a single video card for more than the cost of a console LMAO
This isn't news. PC has always been masterrace.
the point isn't that "hurr durr PCs are better in every way" the point is that hardware companies like AMD will get tons of cash to make more hardware not only for consoles but for PCs.
This sounds like a very Sheldon Cooper way to say it, isn't it?
As someone with a 150+ Steam library on his self-built gaming PC, this whole "superior PC master race" thing can piss off.
Nintendo fan first. PC second.
I still feel like PC is going to get piss poor ports, which, while it does mean PC gaming is getting support, it's not the kind of support the people who play PC games deserve...But that's just me. I'm the kind of person who feels that a game should be perfect at launch, and not have to be subjected to numerous patches that add features that should've been there at launch.
although this comment is incredibly irrelevant anyway because the discussion isn't about pc games, it's about AMD and how they're making bank off of supplying hardware to the 3 consoles which in turn helps their business. i just kind of assumed we were talking about PC games from what most of the posts were saying. my bad.

Nvidia nonfree drivers get a 4/10
AMD nonfree drivers get a 0.1/10

Yet I can dump a decade old Nvidia Quadro into my Windows 8 box and it has full driver support.
4 year old Radeon, lol fuck off and buy a new one!
The fuck are you talking about? They still make drivers for their older cards, they just get updated less often. Have you actually tried using a 4 year old AMD card in Windows 8?
Everything from HD 2000 series and up is still fully supported: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/legacy/Pages/legacy-radeonaiw-vista64.aspx

Nintendo stopped making good stuff 10 years ago.
Man I loved playing Red Dead Redemption on PC.
Oh wait.

Speak for yourself. Some of my games of the year this past half-decade have been Nintendo titles and recently I just picked up a whole bunch of their lower-profile titles I've had on my backlog and have been having a blast. I mean, PC gaming is great - don't get me wrong - but I just can't stand the arrogance that comes with it sometimes. Plus I just prefer Nintendo stuff. Hell, someone get me Steam on Wii U and I'll be set.
I've always preferred intel/nvidia to AMD but I'm glad to see this happen. Hopefully will mean competition between the two brands will stay strong.

To this day it's exclusivity still is one of the biggest gaming industry fuck ups of all time.
Can people just stop with the whole who wins and bla blah PC master race? I play on a PC primarily but I really like my PS3 too. Just play on whatever the fuck you want. These constant "I can build a gaming pc for the same price of a console etc" is getting really annoying.

The PC "master race" thing was originally a joke that was taken a little too seriously and then kinda blew outta proportion. I personally love games in all mediums and I think they all have their upsides and downsides.

This is the only problem I have with the pc atm. developers will always make games on the consoles.
However both the xbone and ps4 use the same architecture as a normal pc which in terms would actually make games easily to port so things will probably end up better for us now.
I'm a PC gamer all the way but I can absolutely completely and totally understand why the appeal of console gaming. I've nearly turned a couple of times but my PC at the moment kicks all kinds of ass. I'm just really excited for the next generation because its x86 (so better ports) and because we're gonna start getting some of the graphics we've been waiting all of last gen for.

I have to wonder if you've actually tried. Mobile cards in particular have genuinely abysmal support from amd.

Wow dude you're so hardcore
as someone with a 660ti, I'd rather get a PS4 instead of upgrading my GPU - it's about the same price and the PS4 gives me way more
The Radeon Xpress 1100 is the worst piece of shit I've ever had to deal with, barely functional XP drivers and a fucking BETA driver for 7 which cripples the GPU's performance.
I'm not sure how viable you think it is to keep driver support back to the stone age for OS's that are in fact, made for today.
Talking about Windows 8 support for graphics cards that are from 4 years back and further? Why?
The PC "master race" thing was originally a joke that was taken a little too seriously and then kinda blew outta proportion. It's like someone was being picked on but was too dumb to pick up on it, so they joined in on making fun of themselves.
You mean the drivers that won't let you use the cards onboard audio over HDMI, or install on Windows 8 without compatibility mode? yeah those.
Ok, I didn't know about that. I find it weird though that they would say their drivers are compatible with Win 8 if they actually aren't, and even fuck up features that previously worked.
Wow dude you're so hardcore
Just sayin'. I get how PC gaming is great, but the whole "master race" thing needs to stop.
Just sayin'. I get how PC gaming is great, but the whole "master race" thing needs to stop.
Nah, just let it rock. They're free to tell themselves whatever they want, but the real master race just has fun with their games, regardless of platform.
