I don't understand. I don't understand why PC users look down on console gamers - For one thing, I don't know a single person who could afford a great PC who continued to say consoles were better. Seems more of an economic class division.
Building a solid gaming computer these days costs roughly $600. This will allow you to max most games of yesteryear at 1080p, and allow you to play on medium-high to high settings on modern games for the foreseeable future.

Seeing as how most people need a computer upgrade at around the same time a new console generation comes out (once every decade,) it would make perfect financial sense to merge the costs of the two into one and build your on PC. The people who would buy both consoles and computers anyway would be able to afford a bangin' gaming machine with their budget.
If there is a problem, which I don't think there is, it's a knowledge problem. Building a computer is intimidating to the general public as far as I know, and buying a pre-built gaming computer is a waste of money.
I've abandoned AMD, the performance of the FX-8350 wasn't even enough to beat my old i7 970, I don't hate them as a company, but for god sake AMD, make something faster than previous gen i7.
Apart from playing Mario games and exclusives (which would be on PC if Micro$oft weren't assholes) why do people have consoles, plug a PC into the TV?
