Wait wait wait, because the US doesn't want their secrets leaked, that makes them seem as if they think they are the kings of the world? How does that work?
The insurance file is supposed to contain every single document. It's got a AES256 encryption though which is pretty much uncrackable. The password is said to be released when Assange gets arrested.
It supposedly contains every single document WikiLeaks has and has confirmed true, and the password's released if anything happens to the top WL staff (incl. Assange)
I have a feeling the government is going to regret this. Wikileaks should release all the important documents even earlier then planned as punishment.
Well it's a GOOD THING I live out of the US so I can safely download this file.

Just in case, get insured.
Also, remove space between I and 5, for some reason Facepunch is retarded when it comes to long strings.

It's not uncrackable, it's just that it'd take several thousand billion years to brute force. :v:

I find it somewhat ironic that this insurance of theirs is information they cannot publish as long as they're threatened by the governments whose secrets it contain.
We don't know what sort of key it has, the filename just makes people assume it's got a AES256 encryption.

Information of a country he isn't even from, I'm sure if this information was about Iran the US would be calling him a hero.

Yep
Seems that freedom of speech is no longer an acceptable liberty... Assange is a hero in my eyes.

1 does not live in usa - never has
never will hes banned from entering legely
Shit happens, and I doubt this is the U.S fault even though Paypal originates from there. Besides, the rules of Paypal even stated that it can't be used for illegal things: Assange is doing something illegal, therefore his account gets restricted. Not the government's decision there but the company's. Hell, I took Economics and it seems like the best action just to keep everything fair for everyone and not take sides for one person.

Good journalism is illegal?
Hell, I took Economics and it seems like the best action just to keep everything fair for everyone and not take sides for one person.
Life isn't fair, as you can see from the fact that governments go against Freedom of Speech, armies commit war crimes their governments cover them up and reveal of them is classified as treason, and etc.
Good journalism is illegal?
No, but then again this isn't true journalism. This is more like stealing answers to a test right under the teachers nose and then releasing it to all your fellow students: It seems to be the good thing yet you get a dish load of trouble because of what you did. Assange decided to leak information from the country he got his Paypal account from, therefore violating the agreement. If he decided to leak say, China or Iran, it would be fine but instead he focused on America, the country that has the big guns, highly trained agents, etc. In my opinion I would of gone for something less dangerous that would still bring my reputation up...

I know that life isn't fair, it will never be. But people just can't be pointing fingers at people because something bad happened. And what wars?
More like "Stealing the tapes the teacher made when he beat the students then publish them to the parents, teachers and students" in my opinion.
And WL doesn't focus on some certain thing per se, they publish what they get, that's been proven true.
Wouldn't it be a bad thing to arrest him if they know he'll release it all if they do? Assange really has them by the balls.

Really? It seems more like he targets America a lot, cause everyone is bitching about that country more often now. I am not starting an argument, but I am just god damned tired about one-sided people who think their opinion means everything in the world.
And then things will go to hell...
Yeah, if anything happens to the top WL staff, the Insurance password will be online.
I am surprised it took PayPal so long to close the account, I mean if anyone here remembers how quickly Garry's PayPal account was closed when someone sent him a rather large amount of money (and later attempted to retract it iirc)
Yeah, if anything happens to the top WL staff, the Insurance password will be online.
And then someone just intentionally deletes things just to stir up more trouble...

He doesn't target any country, he is publishing what he is given. It just happens that someone with access to all this stuff decided to leak it. Wikileaks has published a LOT of stuff from other countries, some of the most damaging stuff it has published has been Non US.
1 does not live in usa - never has

freedom of opinion and expression is a human right, it has nothing to do with usa citizenship and you're an idiot for thinking that it does
It'd suck if his Twitter account was next. It's one of his few means of communicating if his site went down.
Why the fuck are so many people defending these guys? It's ridiculous, the government has every right to keep some secrets from their people.
Why the fuck are so many people defending these guys? It's ridiculous, the government has every right to keep some secrets from their people.
No they don't. The government is just a bunch of people that think they know what is best for everyone. We should have a right to know what they are hiding from us.
Edit: Didn't Assenge just get an arrest warrant on him?
Why the fuck are so many people defending these guys? It's ridiculous, the government has every right to keep some secrets from their people.
Yeah, I mean, there's no reason why the Governments shouldn't be allowed to hide their war crimes.

as long as the country calls itself democratic, the people should be made aware what the government they're responsible for is doing
