Okay, I don't watch streams, could someone educate me on why archiving old streams even matters? Who wants to watch a live event not live?

I'm pretty sure that every one of us (LordCrypto included) is definitely not always awake.
he's dead serious

i can't take this seriously at all
I'm tempted to get out my camera and lights and take a nice facepalm portrait just for this.
Edit: Don't kill each other

So I'll watch your stream the next time you're streaming. Who cares about the last stream you made, it's not like a Youtube video, when someone streams a game, it's exactly the same content as the next time that they stream.

Sometimes old streams are worth re-watching, mainly events, but the majority of archived twitch streams are just "here's me playing X game for an hour with nothing exciting happening".

I found this on twitter
How long until Google buys Facepunch for $5

Would probably have a better up-time.

Laziest shop in history.
I never got that since they do two completely different things.
As it stands yeah they are not direct competitors, but when there was that whole contentID scare, all twitch had to do was allow prerecorded content and it could have been an alternative to gamers looking to upload clips.

Well gamers uploading clips aren't exactly what most people think of when they think of youtube.

you can go ahead and not watch archived streams if you don't want to, but why the hell do you have a problem with the option being there/people doing so if they want to?
Hopefully this means I won't have a 40 seconds to 2 minute delay with streams now.
fix the delay pls
switch to hitbox.tv. it's awesome.
the site layout is far cleaner than twitch
there's no retarded dumb memes like kappa in chat
and the delay
the delay is 5 to 15 seconds. I've tested it myself at various times of the day; the delay is just that short. and it stays there! the other day i did a 8h livestream with 20 viewers on average, and the delay stayed at 7 seconds throughout the day.
this is what it looks like http://www.hitbox.tv/MaxOfS2D

but they still won't fix the youtube player

5seconds was common for me. By the time I said something I'd see the reply in chat. it was great.
Not sure why people are making a big deal out of copyright violations. You want to use other people's content on your channel, you need to pay for that.

i legit like Kappa, its a nice way to show sarcasm
do you forget that hitbox is owned by the owners of own3d.tv which were notorious for fucking their users over and not handing money earned through ads to the streamers
the big names will never move to hitbox simply because of their previous fuckup, which will keep it below other services
edit: they owe a bunch of league teams over 100 grand all up iirc, and they just go "m8 own3d went down we can't pay that" then set up hitbox
I dont see anything bad coming from this
... Can't be anything but good, IMO. Twitch needs money, maybe then they'll get competent admins ...
More like, no admins at all.
But hey! More google+ integration! Constant questions if you really wouldn't rather like to sign in with your real name instead of a nickname. Getting your channel shutdown because you streamed a game you weren't allowed to stream.
Part of me believes a youtube/twitch partnership could be awesome. 24 Hour a day channel content by mixing live video with a youtube playlist. Watching videos with a live audience without having to deal with synchtube's bugs and nonsense. In reality though, this can all only end in tears.
Hitbox needs to succeed though, atleast to give twitch competition. Twitch is still the go-to for gaming streams.
Hitbox is garbage, it's ran by the same people that did own3d.tv, it's pretty much guaranteed to crash and burn.
Does Hitbox also have porn streams under LoL like own3d.tv had?
RIP AGDQ when it comes to streaming nintendo games.
Fuck off Google! I rather Twitch go bankrupt and their website die than to have it be sold to your Youtube. YouTube has no creative freedom anymore!

Even videos that should be protected by fair use are taken down.
So no more Twitch in Germany then? You already can't use YouTube live because of the broadcast laws.
