so you're justifying animal cruelty because it's part of the culture?
All the while being hypocrites and eating your burgers and chicken.
yeah because bull fighting is the same as killing livestock for food

I've already gone through this.
Slaughterhouses are relatively humane, at least the law abiding ones in Europe are. The animals is stunned, and then killed - with a restunning being done if necessary. I am strongly against all kosher and halal slaughter due to their lack of stunning. The animal is then killed quickly and as effectively as possible, and the corpse is butchered and dealt with - with at least 70% of it being made into leather, tallow, meat, bones (ground up and used in fertilizer e.t.c) and so on.
Bullfighting, however, is systemic crippling of an animal that's been abused for its entire life, by shoving darts and lances into it, before killing it under the guise of "entertainment".
Even then, I am against use of any animal product that is unnecessary or excessive. One portion of meat a day is good form for an omnivores diet, but anything more is just wasteful.

I agree, bring back gladiator battles because those are tradition. It's totally okay if it's a tradition!!!
i hate it when "Moral" people destroy traditions
While it may be part of their 'national identity' it's still incredibly cruel.
Believe me, there is much worse.

Do you even know what happens during a bull fight?
I'd also rather watch american bullriding as the bulls aren't harmed in that.
Here's my take on this:
I agree with killing animals for science and food.
I do not agree with killing animals for entertainment.
Done.
Also, humans die from this too. So don't think that it's all safe. People are taking risks to do this.
oh so it's cruel and also retarded thank you for clarifying
-snip-
Can't they do all the spinning about carry on, just without killing the bull?
Seems like it'd be just as good to watch, and it's a good compromise between the two sides of the argument.
Do you even know what happens during a bull fight?
Yes and i think it's okay. It's a long lasting tradition for the Spain's.It's part of there culture.
While bullfighting is cruel, that doesn't mean that they have to kill off the entire sport. They could just use a variety of smoke in mirrors to simulate a "real" bull fight, like using a prop sword that collapses into itself, etc.
i hate it when "Moral" people destroy traditions
God damn moral people, how dare they consider the well being of animals.

Slavery was part of Britains culture when the British Empire was rampant. It lasted for a while.
Do you support slavery?
Um I think Aztec descendants should still be allowed to make human sacrifices today because it is part of their culture!!!
At least there's still the running of the bull, right?
Right?
Or is that not even the spanish I'm thinking of
i hate it when "Moral" people destroy traditions
So let's say my family has this tradition of going around setting cars on fire. It's obviously okay for us to do this, since we've been doing it for as long as there's been cars. Before that we went around setting horses on fire.

People are/should be free to do and believe in what they want, but when it starts to affect other living creatures it becomes a problem and should no longer be put to practice.

No it's not alright, and I'll tell you why. You messed with the tradition to try to 'get with the times'. You need to go back to your glorious tradition and stick with horses.

Let's just say any vegan that eats Jello is a hypocrite. I'll let you look into why yourself.

Not being excessive in that way is really difficult, our lives depend alot of those things. I don't really think a 100% vegan exists. But yeah, I think it's ok if you kill an animal for food, but I totally disagree if it's just for entertainment.
Can't say I agree with this, bullfighting has been around for centuries and is a huge part of classical Spanish culture. Which I, personally think is much more important than a few bulls.

If the bull was instantly killed and then turned into food you'd have a point but nope
I was sad until I learned that bullfighting was meant to kill the bulls (seriously, I did not know that until right now). When I was a kid I just thought Bullfighting was just some guy waving a cape around for the bulls to run towards and miss the guy, until... I dunno, the bull got tired? Shit, If I knew the whole goal was to stab the fucking thing to death... Well, good riddance, I guess.
i hate it when "Moral" people destroy traditions
yeah how dare those moral people get upset over people torturing animals!!

This, I wasn't aware that they actually stabbed it until recently. I want to snuggle a bull now to compensate for the bulls who died through bullfighting :saddowns:
You guys are really being weirdly wimpy towards the bulls.Boo hoo an animal that was probably gonna be made into sausages and chops gets killed. It's a long lasting tradition and now it's gone. And people comparing it to slavery are silly. If it's slavery then let's just not eat no meat at all.
