Teen collapses after playing Call of Duty for 4 days straight - Polidicks

I understand liking a game, even loving it but how can you even play a game for 4 days in a row? I imagine getting quite a CoD burnout from a session like that.

I've never been able to play any game for more than 90 minutes without getting bored/frustrated/tired/guilty. This guy must have a great attention span.

I remember I played the Original Call of duty to completion in one go, that took me a day in total. Was fun back then, no kids using l33t speak 24/7.

Dehydration? That's weird, as soon as my mouth feels dry I get some water... Did this kid just ignore that? Or could he not feel it? I mean, we all have taps, there's no excuse.

1 game for four days. I'm sorry but I enjoy the occasional game of MW3 but I can't stand to play it for hours. Can't believe this kid played it for four days. Also does he not have any friends or a job or anything, should expand his horizons.

I don't understand these people that can ignore basic human needs. Had a friend like that that wouldn't eat for a day or two being too engrossed. He'd sleep and that's about it. I've played games for probably a day straight before, or playing all day, sleeping, then all day the next day, but I still take time out to shower and eat and remain hydrated.

The mom was obviously aware of the situation, why didn't she do anything about it? 4 days is a long time.

Apparently this actually happens a lot, usually with MMOs. I believe the term is "poop-socking", which refers to when someone is so engaged playing a game they'd rather shit in a sock rather than go to the bathroom. A lot of games have started creating [URL="http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/AntiPoopSocking"]Anti Poop-Socking[/URL] measures in order to get people to not kill themselves playing for too long.
