he'll be lucky if he doesn't grow extra fingers out of his face when he hits puberty. Assuming the young chappie lives that long.
Extra fingers are better than cancer though
Not surprised. Every time I've tried to stop smoking I end shovel my face with food instead.
Your brain loves to associate patterns to moods. When stressed, your brain thinks that taking a puff of that cigarette is a great idea, so you'll find things keying you into performing the motion, even when you're trying to quit. The withdrawal combined with that leads to you finding a similar physical habit to do, such as snacking. To a brain trying to quit smoking, that pack of crisps lets you perform the same action for a while, and the food isn't half bad too. It's possible to quit smoking but end up snacking heavily instead. Sure it can be fixed over time, but it's a pain in the short term. I'd advise you to still try to quit, but finding something to do with your hands that isn't eating is key. I know it's insanely hard (I'm thankful the only time I ever smoked a cigarette was when drunk) but your body will thank you, as will your wallet! It's gonna sound weird, but try taking up card tricks, sleight of hand, knitting, crocheting, juggling, making butted mail, whatever, just something to occupy the hands.
