Fukushima NPP is halted atm, but the cooling mechanism malfunctioned, so they're having trouble cooling it
:ohdear:
Lots of people in the thread right now. Watching the live feed, I got a few hours to see what happens.
Yep, definitely a sign of 2012.
No but shitty joke aside, this really sucks, and I hope it won't kill and injure too many.
Best of luck to everyone over there.

They said that it would take about 6 hours for a tsunami to reach hawaii from the start
I wonder what Best Korea thinks of this.
The 'in about an hour' was indonesia
A TSUNAMI IS A SERIES OF LONG OCEAN WAVES. EACH INDIVIDUAL WAVE
CREST CAN LAST 5 TO 15 MINUTES OR MORE AND EXTENSIVELY FLOOD
COASTAL AREAS. THE DANGER CAN CONTINUE FOR MANY HOURS AFTER THE
INITIAL WAVE AS SUBSEQUENT WAVES ARRIVE. TSUNAMI WAVE HEIGHTS
CANNOT BE PREDICTED AND THE FIRST WAVE MAY NOT BE THE LARGEST.
TSUNAMI WAVES EFFICIENTLY WRAP AROUND ISLANDS. ALL SHORES ARE AT
RISK NO MATTER WHICH DIRECTION THEY FACE. THE TROUGH OF A TSUNAMI
WAVE MAY TEMPORARILY EXPOSE THE SEAFLOOR BUT THE AREA WILL
QUICKLY FLOOD AGAIN. EXTREMELY STRONG AND UNUSUAL NEARSHORE
CURRENTS CAN ACCOMPANY A TSUNAMI. DEBRIS PICKED UP AND CARRIED
BY A TSUNAMI AMPLIFIES ITS DESTRUCTIVE POWER. SIMULTANEOUS HIGH
TIDES OR HIGH SURF CAN SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASE THE TSUNAMI HAZARD.
THE ESTIMATED ARRIVAL TIME IN HAWAII OF THE FIRST TSUNAMI WAVE IS
0307 AM HST FRI 11 MAR 2011

Yeah, that was like 6 hours ago.
Seems like they're really having a hard time cooling the Nuclear Power Plant at Fukushima
They have inadequete and insufficient resources and they're calling a state of emergency

This could be really bad.
Dear Earth,
Please stop fucking with us. Whatever we did, we're sorry.
Sincerely,
The people living on you.

I just shit my pants
Any FPer here who live in Japan?

It's still going to hate us!
This is so tragic. My mother is Japanese and we have family there, although they are all well away from the affected areas.
It just feels so surreal to be witnessing a disaster of this magnitude, which is undoubtedly going to go down in history.
Seriously, this kind of crap makes me feel physically ill :smith:
Tsunamis all over Pacific ocean they say
Any FPer here who live in Japan?
I think a couple people a few pages back reported on the situation
seems like Yokohama and Chiba was hit the worst; my cousin in Nagasaki says erryone is fine there
2 more hours before any new news, unless Japan has a Contain...Holy shit they are reporting on that reactor right now.
2 more hours before any new news, unless Japan has a Contain...Holy shit they are reporting on that reactor right now.
:derp:
The Japanese are prepared for this more than any other country in the world. You can't build a building in Tokyo without it being certified earthquake-proof, schools run frequent earthquake drills and they even have a day of the year where everyone practices earthquake drills. If it had happened anywhere else, it would be a disaster of an even large scale than it is already. 1000 times more powerful than Christchurch's.
The sight of the Tsunami ripping across the fields is scary...
They people you see driving cars in the footage are probably dead by now.
Douchebags keep showing video of the Oil refinery blowing up while they talk about the Reactor.
Those tsunami videos are sickening.

Japanese stream talks about the reactors (mentioned in the page before this)
I know Japanese fluently so I did my best to get the important parts out there...
