No, the UK is sheltered by America (from the left) and Europe
That depends, is the United Kingdom anywhere near the pacific?
 Not at all, it's very far away from there
No, the UK is sheltered by America (from the left) and Europe
I was asking him so that he would look at a map and realized how what he said looked. Jus' trying to be nice, because that's some crazy-level lacking geography. [editline]12th March 2011[/editline] Obviously I know where the Pacific and United Kingdom are in relationship to each other, I've actually glanced at a map before.
If it was going to reach the UK they would already have had warnings
You dick. I didn't mean it like that, I was asking if we would get any repercussions from it, not literally the tsunami. :colbert:
I'm moving to Hawaii in a month. :gonk: I have family in Hawaii, but it sounds like they didn't get nearly as bad as Japan did.
I read about this late last night when it occured. Heart goes out to all those effected. I'm just concerned about family in California right now. I've been in contact with a lot of them today already and it's just such confusion. We've told them just to get the hell out and far away from the coastline while you can before traffic becomes a nightmare. I'm worried :(
I'm moving to Hawaii in a month. :gonk: I have family in Hawaii, but it sounds like they didn't get nearly as bad as Japan did.
they had 6 hours to prepare
they had 6 hours to prepare
Yeah, they said the tsunami alerts had been running since 10:00 last night.
Guys, relax. The worst you'll see on the west coast of the USA is some two foot high waves. so stop freaking.
Seriously what is up with all these natural disasters lately, and does anyone know if this will affect the uk at all? Maybe an evil plot :tinfoil:
The UK gets quite a lot of natural disasters, but they're so minuscule that nobody cares/gives a fuck. One earthquake happened and one lady had a heart attack and died, but everyone else was happy because the cabbages were picked by the earthquake.
fuck, this is tragic, my best wishes go out to anyone effected by this
You dick. I didn't mean it like that, I was asking if we would get any repercussions from it, not literally the tsunami. :colbert:
Yes, and that's an equally stupid question. There would be repercussions hundreds of years ago, how do you think it's going to go now when Japan is a massive exporter, and a state with the same economic strength of mainland China, in our globalized world?

Just saw a flaming house floating on top of the wave, still in one piece. :wtc:
No.
Uh, okay.
more like 8 foot and not just the US, also west coast of canada as well
go surfing then
I'm glad I don't live on the coast.
Owned, deal with it. (User was banned for this post ("Dumb reply" - Orkel))
School's cancelled.
I live in North County. I think we'll be okay, fellow San Diegan.
San Diego buddies! :buddy:
more like 8 foot and not just the US, also west coast of canada as well
Duuuude, surf's up brewski! [editline]12th March 2011[/editline] *waves bigger than expected, 100s of potential new candidates for darwin awards*
I woke up from this earlier, was sleeping in late. Luckily Osaka is quite sheltered and not very earthquake prone.
Owned, deal with it.
I hope everything you know and love gets swept away by a tsunami, and that the tsunami also rapes your mother. Deal with it. Fucking retard. (User was banned for this post ("Flaming" - Orkel))
it just recently reached oregon apparently in the us, i dont realise how fortunate i am to live in the uk
I just hope this doesn't cause me to suddenly have beach property.
Is it bad that I felt bad when I saw the picture of that cat but barely give a fuck about the people?
Don't worry. Its normal for people of your mentality. Its just your preference on things. Like, you obviously care more about animals then humans, its just your view on things.
Don't worry. Its normal for people of your mentality.
It's more likely that he has been desensitized to human death via a range of modes, but feels more for the cat, because animals don't tend to maliciously screw you over like people.
Fuck, not cool, I've been cut off the information for the whole day. I just heard "It's bad"...
Was Hawaii ever hit? The livestream went on for ages about how bad it could be
