A tsunami is now aproaching to Chile :smith:
I thought the death count was really low, was I wrong?
Over 1500 at the moment, that figure is certain to rise as day comes and more dead are found.
A tsunami is now aproaching to Chile :smith:
What? My father took a plane to Chile this morning because of some work related stuff. And as he's a marinebiologist, I reckon the HQ will be somewhere near the sea :smith: Hopefully it won't be too big.

The tsunami's gonna hit Valparaiso in Chile within tomorrow's first hour (local time, that is). Given that I'm fairly close to the coast, I don't think I'll be sleeping much.
Its the earthquakes at Japan the last 2 days, numbers being their magnitude. Thats alot of Earthquakes
I'm sitting in my eight period class right now ready to go home. Normally I am mellow and don't care, but this is a little too much to take in in such a short amount of time. Please be honest, are you fucking with me? Is this normal? How bad is this? Is the world going to end? :ohdear:

Hey guys, I left RIGHT BEFORE the Tsunami hit Hawaii. News said approximately 20 minutes when I left. Can anybody inform me on what happened in the past few hours?

Japan is in the crosshairs of every natural disaster nature can muster. If there really is only 1500 deaths there out of a population of over 127 million, that's just a testament to how prepared Japan is for these scenarios.
Not sure if this has been brought up but is there a chance this could trigger the San Andreas to quake?
Oh shit I knew this happened but I didn't think it would go to 9. When is it going to go down? Also BLAME IT ON THE MOON hurrrr
Wow, Japan probably could have took the earthquakes, but that if that tsunami reaches nuclear plants serious shit is going to go down.
Damn, Earth's been knocked 10inch off its axis because of this quake.

1836: The power of the earthquake off north-east Japan shifted the earth's axis by nearly 10in (25cm), Earth-issues.com reports, citing the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology. The phenomenon is not unusual for a major quake.

Damn, Earth's been knocked 10inch off its axis because of this quake.

I feel moved by the occasion.
Anyone got pictures or videos of California? Apparently boats have been sunken and water is rising up to carparks.
Anyone got pictures or videos of California? Apparently boats have been sunken and water is rising up to carparks.
I just got back from Santa Monica beach and it wasn't that bad but there are some lower parts like in Newport and some places up north but from what I saw it really wasn't that much different from any other day.
The situation at the nuclear reactor at Fukushima seems to be worsening. Japanese authorities are now to release radioactive vapour to ease pressure, AP news agency reports. Engineers are trying to fix the cooling system to the main reactor, damaged in the quake.
fucking hell, I hope they can get it under control at least they're not lying
