Banning 3D printers because they can be used to make some parts of guns? This is like The Diamond Age but even less justified.

Guns made of plastic have a tendency to explode.[/QUOTE] the distributed cad file was an AR15 lower (and one non-functional pistol and one that was probably in .22 short or something similarly low pressure). I wouldn't hesitate to run a printed AR15 lower, since all the stress they handle is vibrations from the upper you have a better chance to break it by dropping it rather than from shooting it. Lowers are pretty much indestructible.
