wonder how british people would deal with temperatures upwards of 100 degrees fahrenheit/37 celsius
They would probably just go complain on an internet forum somewhere
yea 17c is sooooooooooo hot
all British posters

you guys

I think British people

You people are literally

British people are

I know you guys
You don't speak for me.
I know you guys aren't used to it, but seriously, 60 fucking degrees makes the news?
No shit. It's The Daily Mail. There's nothing to report on so 'the weather is slightly different' is what they went with. They don't speak for us either.
Hey brits, here's a joke for ya: multi-paned windows. Ha! Seriously though, insulate your houses god damn :v:

Most people have double glazing and lots of insulation. Unfortunately the majority of houses are designed to keep in, not out.

If you think about that for a second, you'll realise that insulation works both ways. With proper insulation the vast majority of the heatup on a warm day enters though windows via sunlight.
Also, I was under the impression that most british housing uses single pane?
That's what we're laughing at, the fact that Britains have such a specific temperature range in which they can comfortably live.
[editline]9th March 2014[/editline]
We have the same thing over here, buddy. 40f in the sun, with windchill getting down into the 10s.

Britain weather threads = instant defensive stance for all British posters
We get defensive because it immediately becomes "lol brits can't handle weather".
You're doing it right fuckin' now.
Besides, it's just our tabloids blowing shit out of proportion. Today was perfectly comfortable for me, and I was out in the midday sun in a big heft leather jacket.

That's a pretty bad assumption really. It's normally cold here, so single pane would be a massive waste of energy if we use heating and shit. Double glazed windows are the standard now for a good reason. But the weather has gotten pretty whacky recently.

So glad most homes don't use single pane anymore actually, it was getting daft having one side of my room's wall freeze over in winter or unbearable heat turning everything inside into an oven.
No dude, you guys complain when it's 60f, and bitch when it's 30f you people literally have a 20 degree buffer zone before your newspapers start to write stories about the weather.
And half of the United States has a 2cm buffer zone before your newspapers start talking about snow, what's your point
Where I live 2cm of snow means everyone grabs the broom and pushes it off their step, in other places 2cm of snow causes huge traffic accidents and shuts down freeways
yes i too like to make needless arbitrary comparisons to other locations
like the surface of mercury
we get it - different parts of the world have different norms thank you
It's not like he was making fun of you guys or anything, cool your shit. He was just pointing it out.
I feel like Facepunch is really sensitive about the most careless of things.
its -28 in Yakutsk right now. Go to hell.
... Or rather just the English seem to be very hostile about their weather patterns :v:
We aren't even really making fun of them or being mean, we're just pointing out facts. It's really childish imo that they can't even own up to the facts. I love these threads, because it's mostly filled with people from Britain saying "but guys we just AREN'T used to this weather"
no it's because all of your posts are basically
aha fucking british tea drinkers people in america the free are saving the world and fighting against a bigger temperature lol you're just so sensitive!!! i bet you don't have extreme commie cold in the winter like america the beautiful does just own up you suckers!!!
and when someone disagrees with you, you just flip your shit and ramble about how you were simply "pointing facts"
i mean seriously what the fuck, do you jack off to the reading on your thermometer or something

I live in Michigan, we have gotten over 100 inches of snow lol
Wow earlier today, I go outside and it's amazing how the weather is. I wonder if those roads will melt again hahaha.
If the weather still the same, gonna head down to Southend for the beaches oy.
The best thing about it being hot it when I'm working the shop is dead cause everyone's outside doing stuff. It makes an awesome break from it being packed all day.
Hottest day of the year and where I work decides to turn the heating up... good thing I can hide away in a 2C fridge.
Prepare for everywhere you go to be summer related now with pictures of BBQ's plastered everywhere
When I woke up and saw the weather I went out in my car.
Was amazing to be able to just sit there in my car with the window open and snooze with a maccers!!!
Roll on the next few months!

You just explained to yourself why you're wrong. :v:
Living in ones of the states a little above half way down, that just seems kind of silly cold for me to be at the highest. It was 60 a few days ago and I still wanted it to be ten degrees to fifteen degrees higher.
You just explained to yourself why you're wrong. :v:
Aye, I got hung up on a technical detail. Insulation keeps hot and cold air at bay equally, but a house will indeed heat up more easily.
Christ, if any of you guys plan to go to Rio for the world cup you are probably going to die, its usually 40c in there.
what is even the point of this thread
70F is cold here. 80-85 is perfect. 95 is a little warm and 110+ gets a little rough.
I don't care if people like/don't like warm/cold weather.
I just want this snow to melt so I can hit the park!
Fuck I wish it was 17c in florida. Especially in the summer.
"Hey guys it's winter, want to have snow and stuff?"
"HAHA too bad here's 80F weather"
-Florida every fucking year
it's why whenever i go to the upper states around this time of year the first day im there i am wearing short shirts and stuff, absorbing all the nice cold weather (50f, 30f, i don't care).
I melt at 25c and anymore than that I keel over and die.
I had to work outside last year in the summer when it smashed a whopping 35c I couldn't take it and drank about 5000 litres of water a week and pissed almost constantly.
Seriously? 62 degrees is hot to you? That's jacket weather....
I know you guys aren't used to it, but seriously, 60 fucking degrees makes the news?
[editline]9th March 2014[/editline]
I'll never forget during last years 'heat wave' I tried to help some people out by telling them how to keep cool. At least 3 people told me I was an idiot because "a fan won't do anything, blowing hot air around isn't going to make me cool lol".
around this time it snows so it's weird.

not really, it's pretty chill until bloody foreigners show up

I'm stupidly sensitive to heat. Above 20 degrees and I'm melting, when I went to Florida one summer there were times I felt like I was going to die. On the other hand I do great in the cold, -10/-15 is no problem at all.
This is so fucking stupid. When Americans complain about a cold and snowy winter, everyone else is like "lol deal with it fags". Now when we make fun of Brits for having a warmer than usual day, we get told to shut the fuck up. Get the fuck over yourselves.
