Exodus 21:24 and Exodus 21:25
Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,
Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.
Better listed in Leviticus 24:20
a fracture for a fracture, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. Whatever anyone does to injure another person must be paid back in kind.
If Christians condemn the actions they go against the word of God. :smug:
old testemant and leviticus
does not apply properly anymore

Yes but we don't follow through with it :colbert:
Well, if you don't want to be blinded, then maybe you shouldn't throw acid in the first place.

It's because western countries are not theocracies.
As soon as I read the title I instantly thought Iran.
Don't know why.
I don't see how this is relevant news.
I don't see how this is relevant news.
Are you blind, it beca.. I see what you did there.
It's relevant because somebody is being punished in a very cruel and unusual way.
Ah just forget these people, let them mutilate each other.
It is easy to say this, but what about countries like Paris, where they have been pushing for Shariah law to be implemented and in some places Muslim only slums have appeared where police refuse to go because they are basically attacked and killed on sight.

Call swat and exterminate the trash
the majority of the US states also have an eye for an eye system when it comes to murder
see: capital punishment in the US
Too bad it isn't 1 murder = death sentence
Unless it's like super torture rape murder combo, but even then all they do is just kill them, thus not an eye for an eye
Who the fuck does that in the first place?
Acid incidents are much more common in the middle east/asia. The aim usually is to make a person unattractive.
That is fucking barbaric.
Didn't they just stone a woman for committing adultery,
so by Iran's standards shouldn't this guy be set free and commended for his commitment to justice.
A man will have drops of acid poured into his eyes as punishment for blinding his lover's husband after Iran's Supreme Court upheld his sentence this weekend.
The man, known as Mojtaba, threw acid into the face of taxi driver named Alireza after it was alleged the man had an affair with Mojtaba’s wife.
I'm horribly confused about the relationships between these people, I can't tell who is married to the woman, it's contradictory.
Looks like you got your wish facepunch
this is what you constantly endorse for western punishments
Whoa, brutal.

Hypocrisy is going to run rampant in here, people who always say "Oh well, they should get shot in the face too hurr!" are going to not do the same here. That's what happens with bandwagons.
"Gee, Vinze, why so much against middle-eastern influence in Europe?"
This is why! :black101:
Who the fuck does that in the first place?
a very troubled muslim
Looks like you got your wish facepunch

Yup, Honestly if this guy really blinded a guy with acid I have little sympathy for the fact that he will now be blinded.
How is acid so easy to come by, do people just walk up to a chemist and say, "Hey...You got some acid?"
Woah
Yup, Honestly if this guy really blinded a guy with acid I have little sympathy for the fact that he will now be blinded.
What's the point of blinding him? All it will do is blind an otherwise useful member of their society. Are other punishments somehow not suitable for some reason?
I think it's great.
Haters gonna hate;
negatively gonna rate,
but I still think it's great.
Actually, it makes sense. An eye for an eye. It's better than the typical prison sentences that serve no purpose. He blinded a taxi driver who relied on his vision for a living and now he has to face the consequences.
just an fyi to facepunch, you guys advocated pouring acid into the face of a women who did the same thing a while back
facepunch, as tolerant as Iran circa 2004
What's the point of blinding him? All it will do is blind an otherwise useful member of their society. Are other punishments somehow not suitable for some reason?
Yes, because throwing acid in peoples faces is useful to society. I understand now. you are correct, he should be allowed to continue doing this.
Also, wonderfully progressive Facepunch. What if this man is innocent? You don't get to take back blinding someone.

This man obviously has no job and will never do anything good in the future. He just throws acid in people's faces all day.
Yup, Honestly if this guy really blinded a guy with acid I have little sympathy for the fact that he will now be blinded.
lol.
This is terrible because the best thing the WHOLE FUCKING COUNTRY of Iran can come up with is mirroring what the attacker did, back on himself.
A tooth for a tooth, an eye for an eye justice is thousands of years old, there are WAY more effective methods of dealing with criminals now.
Not only have they handicapped two people, both through a failure of culture and a failure of the justice system, they're also advocating it and pretending it's totally normal.
lol.

lol. Like what? A prison sentence? So, he goes to prison for a few years, get released and still remains the same douchebag that he was a few years back.
What you guys fail to see is that he ruined that taxi driver's life forever and the victim asked for qisas or however you spell it.
