An eye for an eye makes the whole world go blind.
An eye for an eye makes the whole world go blind.
An original thought makes the whole world smarter.
so what's your excuse then for the death penalty being used in the majority of US states?
Don't ever change JDK. Don't ever change.
As long as said ban doesn't include lysergic acid diethylamide.
Or Hydrochloric Acid. I love that shit.
If this were truly an eye for an eye, the convict should be blinded and the victim should have his wife be cheated on. Also, why the fuck does everyone throw acid at eachother. Jesus christ it's like every fucking week you hear of someone throwing acid in someone's face for some reason/
acid to the eyes? jeez that must hurt like crazy...
Actually you only need a little bit of acid to denature the proteins on your eyes permanently.
Actually you only need a little bit of acid to denature the proteins on your eyes permanently.
Knowing the Muslim torture practices, I doubt they'll settle for only a few droplets
Am I the only one who doesnt have a problem with this? If someone threw acid in your eyes and made you blind, wouldnt you want the same thing to happen to him too? If someone intends to do someone else harm he deserves the same treatment.

The goal should be to rehabilitate criminals, the prison system just creates a culture of crime.
I would have hoped the man that was originally blinded would have shown some virtue and asked for this to be called off. I know he must be pissed to have lost his sight, but a punishment like that is barbaric. He should be given a long prison sentence, obviously. But to have acid dropped in his eyes is horrific.
I'm not opposing this
Im sure fathers of murdered children would want atrocities done to the culprit, doesnt justify it.
No
Well unfortunately you're wrong because that's why criminals try to plead as "insane" so they don't have to go to prison.
Well unfortunately you're wrong because that's why criminals try to plead as "insane" so they don't have to go to prison.
Uh, you are wrong
Exodus 21:24 and Exodus 21:25 Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe. Better listed in Leviticus 24:20 a fracture for a fracture, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. Whatever anyone does to injure another person must be paid back in kind. If Christians condemn the actions they go against the word of God. :smug: The boxes look like Bibles to me.
Why bring religion into this?
But wouldn't people be MORE willing to commit crime if they knew that instead of having to go to prison or something like that, they would just be "rehabilitated".
well you know the whole idea behind rehabilitation is that afterward they don't feel inclined to commit a crime. You can never stop a crime being committed if the criminal is determined enough, the only thing we can do is deal with the aftermath.
I don't see the difference between eye for an eye and going to prison specifically to get raped and beaten They're both backwards physical deterrents. To anyone who advocates one but not the other: please explain to me why

The small chance of being raped or beaten isn't really up to the judges.
Uh, you are wrong
Actually no I'm not and don't tell me I am unless you actually have a reason behind it.
I was making a statement that Iran doesn't give a fuck what anyone says.
and the US does?
I advocate prison as a method of exclusion from society and rehabilitation into said society. The small chance of being raped or beaten isn't really up to the judges.
PfftahahHAHAHAHAAH! It doesn't work like that. Criminals actually make connections in prisons, learn new ways of committing crimes and generally become far more dangerous after serving the sentence.
PfftahahHAHAHAHAAH! It doesn't work like that. Criminals actually make connections in prisons, learn new ways of committing crimes and generally become far more dangerous after serving the sentence.
you know why? because the prison system is shitty.
you know why? because the prison system is shitty.
This. The recidivism rate wouldn't be so ridiculously high if our prison system wasn't stupidly inept and run by pricks who believe revenge is justice. Of course the really bad folks are the ones who view it as a business. The state pays the private company a certain amount of money per prisoner, so they are inclined to shove as many prisoners into a single location as possible while spending as little as possible on them. Don't get me wrong, I'd certainly want to murder someone if they hurt me or my family in any significant fashion, but I'm under no illusion that such an action would be justice.
What is with middle eastern people and hurling acid, not to generalize but it may as well be a national sport for all the countries in the middle east. Maybe it could be an event in the Olympics?
