Things just don't seem to be going to well for EA right now. I hope they plunge to the bottom of the oceans and free the galaxy of shit games
I think every sensible gamer hates EA with a passion. They brought this upon them selfs
BF3 seems to be doing just fine. I've a couple pre-ordered games from EA that I look forward to. Mainly Warfighter and Simcity 5.
That's because there's still blood in those series and still people like you to buy them. If you actually like that money spinning dross than more power to you, but I personally don't buy them for the same reason I don't donate money to the 'fund for landmines in children's playgrounds appeal'.

So you buy games only to donate? I buy games I think I will enjoy and play, not for donating purpose.

They haven't released the same game over and over so stop pulling crap out of your ass please. Hey, seen Activision? Go hate on them instead, they're the ones that release copy-paste games.

Also seems to be under the impression EA has anything to do with these games besides raking in the dosh and pushing the 'release game' button whenever they run low.

But since people keep buying.

Satan's own video game production company?
"That's why we had to strive to get independent. Rather than get into bed with someone we knew was a horrible bed partner we said 'let's stay virgins for longer'."
Hmm, I'll have write this one down.
I like the response and I think I'd handle it the same way. Aside from that: He clearly seems to be hateful towards EA. There must be a reason why, despite what EA claims. And then again: Mocking a serious mental condition isn't right.

EA aren't the devil, overreacting much.

I was referring to the Battlefield genre.

You seems to have to much hate inside you. And claiming the Battlefield series = copy paste is absurd.
Oh my god, I can't believe I haven't heard they're back! Oddworld games were pretty much half my child-hood (spent days mustering courage and whining to my uncle to help me pass that one spot where you have to electrocute the Slogs in Abe's Oddworld: Exoddus). That game was not only genius in every aspect from an artistic point of view, the world they crafted was immersive as hell. I will be keeping my eyes open for new releases and heaven forbid I pass any of their games up when they're on Steam... except maybe for Munch's Oddyssey, never took a liking to Munch... >.>

If I had absolutely no idea what EA was I could defend them too against those damned 'haters' Honestly EA defenders boggle my mind, they're either completely ignorant of the situation and just dive into conversations against 'haters' and 'trolls' (I put ' around those words because if I leave them uncovered I feel I may catch some kind of infection) or they are like abused spouses who are quite aware of the situation and simply LIKE the consumer abuse and being treated like a mobile wallet that gladly eats whatever half baked crap their enslaved developers are forced to make. Despite apparently being a 'hater' I'm so fucking glad to hear this, if only bullfrog could have said the same, or Tim Schaefer when he was making brutal legend.

Ah, is that why you accused the BF series for being copy-paste? Never called you hater or troll. You seems to know shit, you give me the impression of using cool words to act like an internet tough guy. I don't care who makes the game, I don't care if it's EA/Activison/whatever. If the game is fun, I'm enjoying it they deserve my money.
I love this guy "Fuck you very much!"
Just from the way Lanning responded to EA, I'm kind of leaning toward him making it up. I think he just wanted an excuse to bash on EA's business model and to throw some harsh publicity their way. I am not going to say that EA handled it well because obviously they just insulted people with conditions that aren't their fault. Lowbrow on both sides here, kind of pathetic of both of them.

Still a lot of games are really good and they try at least to be better, in my opinion anyway. There are also a ton of good sports games which are highly valued by the community. I never play them though.
Didn't their company go down the drain a few years back? Are they finally back?
Yeah after the release of Stranger's Wrath they were not in a good stance and it gave Lanning a bad image as he fired a huge amount of the Oddworld staff with little notice to make sure they didn't go under, even though Stranger's Wrath was pretty well accepted it didn't sell well in comparison to everything else on the xbox released at the same time. They then went silent for a long period with the hint of them developing a film we'll never see and a few new games were hinted but nothing more than that. All I can guess is they got some rather large backing in the last few years for the new Oddysee remake.
oh my god OH MY GOD I'M IN LOVE [editline]2nd October 2012[/editline] I have the Oddworld artbook, and it's like the best fucking thing ever. SO MUCH GOOD ART ITS JUST SO BEAUTIFUL
What are they, 12?
What are they, 12?
EA, or the Oddworld dev?
EA, or the Oddworld dev?
EA. They are like a bunch of bullies who take a kids lunch money, but the kid has friends and stands up to the bullies and the bullies go "Fucking retard kids"
EA. They are like a bunch of bullies who take a kids lunch money, but the kid has friends and stands up to the bullies and the bullies go "Fucking retard kids"
I think both are acting childish. Yeah EA's comments about paranoia and tourrettes aren't really necessary (okay maybe paranoia, "powerful leaders and laws" really?) but the way Lanning implies there is more to the story but won't tell us doesn't help his case at all. But of course the indie dev "wins" when it's his word vs a multi-national corporation because he a strong independent developer who don't need no publisher.
