Dayum, gotta remember this one.
Very mature, fantastically well though of you!
What are you a white knight for EA, you don't know shit about them except their brand is on the box of your samey tactical shooter.
Cunt, you sound like EA murdered your parents and children and now you are over-zealous of undermining the big bad coperate organization that is destroying the gaming market and all hope is lost.

No, he's just calling out some moron who said he would burn something and flip off EA.
Yeah after the release of Stranger's Wrath they were not in a good stance and it gave Lanning a bad image as he fired a huge amount of the Oddworld staff with little notice to make sure they didn't go under, even though Stranger's Wrath was pretty well accepted it didn't sell well in comparison to everything else on the xbox released at the same time. They then went silent for a long period with the hint of them developing a film we'll never see and a few new games were hinted but nothing more than that. All I can guess is they got some rather large backing in the last few years for the new Oddysee remake.
In regards to oddworld returning, the reason why no games after stranger were made (outside of the company having money issues) was that they didnt want to work with a big publisher who would acquire the brand or not spent the profits on more games.
Its only until now, JAW offered a partnership where 100% of the profits went to new games, coupled with digital distribution (Lorne said in the eurogamer interview that a £60 retail gives you £7, while a £10 digital gives you £7 (roughly))
JAW are taking it slowly, starting with small hd updates, then more and more adventurous titles.
Also I'm pretty sure that Activision is the onewho makes the tacticool shooters

What are you an avenger for all the small studios that have been consumed by EA, you don't know shit except of a few media articles that are overly dramatized and not objective.

Caricature's aside I do hate EA, I've been personally burned. I've bought their crap in the past, put up with their shit first hand, Hell I played brutal legend and liked it right up to the abrupt ending caused by EA's intervention.
So yeah EA pisses me off in a general sense, showing a bit of fucking passion about shit shouldn't be wrong to do.
Besides they used to be good and do good things which makes the bitter tragedy all the more bitter.
Very mature, fantastically well though of you!
I will not be mature and respectful towards a company that can not do so themselves.
I will not be mature and respectful towards a company that can not do so themselves.
No of course not, you go get them!
I will not be mature and respectful towards a company that can not do so themselves.
What's does EA do that's immature?
The entirety of EA, not some random spokesperson.
No of course not, you go get them!
Okay, you disagree with what I would do.
I also probably wouldn't do it.
I can imagine I would, though.
He hates EA because of the shitty job they did at publishing Stranger's Wrath... and because they're a fucking awful company

Just curious, what do you think the costs of game development are compared to say... seven years ago?

Operate under a business model that is more suited for their hay-day back in nineteen ninety selling point and click adventures for the Amiga.

Personally burned? I seriously cannot take you serious anymore, you are just totally resentful to anything that EA has done and will do in the future.

Shitloads, and yet somehow indie devs still manage, curiouser and curiouser.
Hell even one of my gay idols that I furiously masturbate too every night Tim Schaefer managed to fund a game entirely through kickstarter.
Perhaps greenlight who knows, maybe the market is ~changing~

I don't see your point here. Enlighten me, tell me why their business model doesn't work.

Purely anecdotal but I saw Strangers Wrath advertisements everywhere.

Damn, he has personal experience, I just can't take him seriously anymore.
You are one internet warped little child.

Nobody makes tacticool shooters because tacticool is a neologism that describes firearms and firearms accessories, not video games.

They aren't making money anymore despite their caustic practices. Well they are technically but if they keep fucking up they wont.

Indie dev teams have 4 people and aren't expected of much.
A company like EA is expected to publish games with more content in the same amount of time all while barely increasing the teams size and keeping the prices of games the same.

If this is how you think EA operates, you are incredibly misguided.
A Gmod video of someone waving their arms around and swimming in money doesn't count as a source to back up your argument, nor does it explain anything to me.

I guess it's true of their outdated business model, had they adapted like valve they might not have such pressure and might not keep making so many grievous mistakes.

I didn't make any propositions as to how they operate, I thought we covered this. I just said the reason their model doesn't work is because at the first sign of failure they hemorrhage money like crazy and it only gets worse as time goes by.
Guys, this is what EA wants. We were together before all this, but this is tearing us apart. It's like Loki's staff in The Avengers.
Quit gettin' mad at eachother, we need to focus our anger at the real enemy.

You're bringing one of the most unique AAA companies into an argument. One that is essentially more like a retail store than a publisher or developer?

Sorry, I like Battlefield too much.

Yep, Valve did it right, EA does it wrong, what makes it worse is that EA being the creative geniuses they are decided to copy Valve's mojo with origin and even fucked that up.
They're like a flailing dinosaur dying in the oppressive cold of the ice age.
