But when I heard DICE banning users for making Battlefield 3 look better I decided that I'll never (not that I can afford now) buy any of their atrocious new games.

I don't like EA, and I think it's great that he didn't accept the offer (if one existed), but he still did it in a completely immature way. It was an appropriate response from EA considering what they were responding to, and if any other company did it - say, Valve offered to buy them - Facepunch would be all over Lanning for saying "Fuck you" to Valve and heralding Valve for their clever response.

But this is SH. I shouldn't be surprised about double standards.

EA and Valve are very different from each other, the main difference being that Valve is very loyal and much more noble to fans. If Valve offered to buy out Oddworld, the dev probably wouldn't say "Fuck you" and start swearing at Gabe. They'd probably just give a kind "No thank you."
