I don't think anybody walks around in winter, naked, with freezing cold water pouring over them for a few minutes, it's a bit different.

Regardless if the hotsauce and cold shower thing is extreme or not,
the kid clearly is in discomfort from it and I'm guessing that is why the courts are going insane.
Mind you court is a little extreme in my ideals for this case.
