I was whipped quite a lot since I was a trouble maker. After few years it straightened the fuck out of me. But i'd rather have belt than hot sauce / cold shower.
To be fair, if it was just the hot sauce, then it actually isn't that bad, assuming that it isn't the ridiculously hot stuff that actually causes pain.
The shower, though... that's too damn far. Slap the bitch for every drop of water on that poor kid.
And if she wasn't so damn strict about the hot sauce, I can see a decent parent actually using the method. It's a much tastier alternative to beatings, at least. And beatings taste of cabbage and depression.
