Former Mexican President on Trump's Wall: "I'm not paying for that fucking wall"

Isn't it a strategy of business to ask for something outrageous to soften them up for a better compromise/deal?
It's in his book anyway
So much hate from delusional bernie sanders followers on fp because they are told its cool to vote bernie, like sheep to the slaughter on both sides, but at least trump is a wildcard that might pan out, either way american politics is corrupt, more so than uk politics, at least with uk politics there is slowly becoming a chance for a third party (ukip, snp)
The last time the US had a "wildcard" president was Richard Nixon, and he was pretty fucking awful.
I thought that trump was just suggesting that we divert aid to build the wall, not force them to pay for it.
In which case, they wouldn't be paying for it. They just wouldn't be getting handouts until it was finished.
Don't get what the hell a wall is even supposed to accomplish. Is it going to be a hundred feet tall, fifty feet deep, and extend fifty miles into the ocean and the gulf? Because unless you have armed guards every fifteen feet, this multi-billion dollar monument to Trump's shortsightedness could be bested by a fucking ladder. Illegal immigrants are, at best, somewhat inconvenienced. Cubans have been coming to Florida on homemade rafts for decades, you think a little wall is a serious obstacle for anybody serious about crossing it?
Furthermore, the idea that this will help thwart cartels is a fucking joke, because those bastards have tunnels, planes, catapults boats, and even SUBMARINES to smuggle their product. A wall is nothing.
You might as well put that money in a big pile and burn it-- at least that way it can keep some folks warm for a while. Already more useful.
Yeah we get idiots like you pretending we got a good deal lol

ontopic:
Can you blame the Mexican government for saying the idea's fucking stupid?
"oh no a wall guess we gotta go home kids"
So I've watched most of the recent Republican debate and it seems like all of the candidates want walls now.
American needs to not only build a wall but a moat like Tunisia did: http://www.ipsnews.net/2015/09/tunisia-digs-a-100-mile-moat-to-keep-refugees-at-bay/
So, what? Build a wall right next to the wall that already exists and then build a moat right next to the river that already exists?
That video is fucking great.
Guys.
What if the wall is built like The Great Wall of China?
It'd add a booming new tourism industry, and add a ton of new jobs for building, maintaining, cleaning, and even giving tours along the wall!

"The Wall was built by an unknown American president circa 2017 AD, who was squashed during its unveiling by a portly Mexican man who had clambered over it with a medium-sized stepladder. Some say his ghost haunts the Wall to this day, wandering its chambers, searching for hair products and deals with China!"

You and your delusional like-minded individuals should just move to the US for a few years, work a working class job and then see how you feel. Because trust me, you're either delusional or just outright blind to your privilege.
Trump is the embodiment of America literally digging its own grave.
Well, he's not the president anymore...
The current president of Mexico's administration also called the idea absurd, little more in the source.

Fine, if he doesn't want to pay for it - then he can always join his workers, like the patriot that he is, and build it with his own two hands. Mexican officials are owned by the Cartels: people who behave like ISIS, but do not LARP intensely enough to get on the news.
