....I should just kill myself. I want to learn Calculus but it just doesn't make sense to me :smith:
Unless you plan on becoming an engineer there is no practical use for Calculus.
well uh what I declined to say was it's because i never had the chance to develop myself. if you had a chance to go very far with your brains and didn't take it because you were "slackin off", there's no-one to blame for that lost opportunity but you. i wish i had that opportunity, but being poor and british it wasn't there.
Im fine with not having taken the oppurtunity to be in higher maths and sciences and all other classes. I used to be in all honors and all that jazz but I hated it so I started slacking off to a point where I was more comfortable. And I could manage the workload and I could do all the work, I just hated it because wasting my very short life on bullshit that I dont care about mad me angry
fuck me
I have Assburgers, why am I not very smart? I mean, I'm about average (in the UK, set 4/5, Year 11) but this kid... The fuck, man? The fuck? :saddowns:.
Also he will have a fulfilling life for him, I for one would not want to spend my life on scientific theories (mostly because I'm a materialist bastard interested in money and would prefer spending such time making a career), but he is not me nor is he you. He wants to do this stuff so he'll be happy, even though you wouldn't be.
Calculus is really fun, very satisfying. Such a pity I didn't learn it when I was younger, I only really started enjoying maths at 15 :smith: And I really envy this kid. As thisispain said, I was apparently considered "gifted" when I was younger, but then I found the computer and wasted my life on it. [editline]25th March 2011[/editline] And still am :frown:
Doubt it. Their social abilities are close to none. They're extremely intelligent, but they're retarded (using actual definition of 'retarded' here).
I know actual autistics and people with aspergers. It is really not that bad. It's kind alike havin lots of ammo for your gun, but no gun to use it. I think it might all just go to waste.
I'm no expert, well in fact I know barely nothing about this, but I'm quite sure it's not as sensational as the reporters claim it is. From my limited mathematical knowledge it seems like he is just playing around with trigonometry and algebra, and it doesn't really seem to be based on much from real life, and definitely doesn't seem to be testable which is a huge requirement for a scientific theory. He is obviously really darn good, but he shouldn't go beyond himself just for the sake of trying to look impressive.
You feel pity because he will grow up while doing what he enjoys? Whoa!
I feel pity because no child should grow up being hounded or pushed around to exceed or act more mature than they really are. Especially a child who is more sensitive due to being autistic. I guess that flew right over your head though.
He's not going to be taken seriously. Just because he's good at maths and remembering certain things, does not make him a physicist capable of besting Einstein, who, incidentally spent more time on general relativity than this kid has been speaking. I won't deny that he is good at maths, but he simply won't be taken seriously, wait untill Avon sees this thread.
It's not just that he can remember those things it's the fact that his IQ 170 which if you read the OP is higher then Einestines was. It's that he's already SOLVING math problems that would make your brain shit bricks before shutting down. So yes i'm pretty sure it's safe to say he's being taken seriously.

He seemed pretty cool to me. I mean his smartness is way beyond my understanding, but he seemed pretty cool about it, and not at all troubled. But I can't tell how he acts outside of his mathematical interests.
Dude, I may get to see him at IUPUI.
I could;ve done this shit already if it wern't for the goddamn heat in texas i mean my mom was finnish i sohuld be in canada or someshit
Well technically its a hypothesis until it is proven but its nice to see a new super genius try there hand at physics.
Finally, something comes good out of 12 year olds.
Finally, something comes good out of 12 year olds.
Unless he manages to outsmart a bullet and becomes the next Hitler and genocides millions of muslims/jews/whatever
Unless he manages to outsmart a bullet and becomes the next Hitler and genocides millions of muslims/jews/whatever
Smart people tend to be nicer and more excepting because they understand the genetic and environmental reasons of why people act the way they do.
Holy Fuck. Hes trying to Disprove the big bang theory. i know this might get a lot of dumbs, but if he does indeed disprove that the big bang happened, it could either mean something else happened, or heck, even prove GOD exists. holy shit. also, stop fucking picking on him for being autistic, who honestly gives a shit, the autism probably gave him his intelligence, the people picking on him for being smart are probably either trolls, or people who do no good for society and deserve a Darwin Award for how dumb they are to think just because he's autistic, they can pick on him. i can see this kid possibly developing technology in that the year 2100 thread in only another 20-30 years due to how smart he is. i know, its a long post, but this is how i feel about this entire thing.
even prove GOD exists.
Disproving the big bang theory wont give god any proof. Oh and there would be other theories to take its place.
Disproving the big bang theory wont give god any proof. Oh and there would be other theories to take its place.
i know this, but it was a REALLY wild guess, if scientists couldn't think of anything else, then they would give up and a boost of Religious activities would occur. so its more a theoretical proving god exists, and not a solid.
i know this, but it was a REALLY wild guess, if science couldn't think of anything else, then they would give up and a boost of Religious activities would occur. so its more a theoretical proving god exists, and not a solid.
Science isn't a person, science can't "give up".
Science isn't a person, science can't "give up".
i wasnt saying SCIENCE would give up, i was saying most Scientists would. maybe i typo'ed. EDIT: yep it was, that was of me.
i wasnt saying SCIENCE would give up, i was saying most Scientists would. maybe i typo'ed.
Why would they? also in regards to the whole disproving the big bang http://www.reddit.com/r/reddit.com/comments/ga16y/12yearold_genius_who_is_disproving_the_bigbang/c1m36v8 actual physicist btw
i know this, but it was a REALLY wild guess, if scientists couldn't think of anything else, then they would give up and a boost of Religious activities would occur. so its more a theoretical proving god exists, and not a solid.
No it would boost science even more. science loves mystery.
Disproving the big bang theory wont give god any proof. Oh and there would be other theories to take its place.
Wasn't their one theory that stated big-bangs never happen, and what actually happens is that the universe runs out of fuel after about 5 trillion years, and then blackholes begin contending against each other until a super blackhole absorbs the smaller blackholes. After a major blackhole consumes all of the blackholes the lack of existence causes the blackhole to either... A. Devour itself or B. Self Destruct into "Big Bang" type phenom ... I shouldn't even try describing this shit... It probablly just came out in the most dumbed down form possible.
Why would they? also in regards to the whole disproving the big bang http://www.reddit.com/r/reddit.com/comments/ga16y/12yearold_genius_who_is_disproving_the_bigbang/c1m36v8 actual physicist btw
ONE. im sure hes right but its still one, so im giving the kid a chance.
ONE. im sure hes right but its still one, so im giving the kid a chance.
Um, he's stating facts.
