My ISP is Virgin Media and they kill your download speeds if you download more than a gigabyte during "peak hours" (i.e. between 4 and 9). If you download more than that much during that time your speed gets slashed to 20% of what you actually pay for, for a full 5 hours afterwards. The worst thing is that they don't even discriminate between what your downloading. So I can be doing something completely legitimate like watching youtube or playing TF2, then suddenly watch my ping jump to 300 with no warning at all.
