You know it's a bad idea when even Glaber and GMod_Fan disagree with it. Honestly, I really hope that in 30 years I'm not sitting in a chair telling my grandkids about how free internet used to be.
10 bucks 4chan is going hack into all the corporate systems as payback.

"sure it was grandpa. ha ha!" (walks away)
watch when HTTP only is ruined and my IRC servers and BBSes remain untouched
10 bucks 4chan is going hack into all the corporate systems as payback.
wow... you're 12. 4chan is a mass of bile and snot formed from retired pedophiles and kids who think they know shit. they won't do anything.
Time to grab my guns and move to Switzerland. But Google will save us.
wow... you're 12. 4chan is a mass of bile and snot formed from retired pedophiles and kids who think they know shit. they won't do anything.
Kinda like Facepunch.
I will protest my fucking ass off if this gets into place, especially in Europe. Though, I doubt it will reach that far. I would guess 99% of the Internet is against this.
why nothing is going to happen and if it does you can easily just stick with your more local ISPs like Cablevision in the New York area. people aren't idiots, they won't switch to an isp that provides 1/1000000 of whats available just because of the price
:buddy: My grandfather knows the owner of Cablevision, and lives next to his mother in law. Did you know he actually started out with an appliance store-type deal? Edit: I think, im going to go verify this.
Still wont get people using Dark net.
Welcome to The Matrix boys.
The internet is one of the largest profit sharing devices in the modern world. To limit the amount of free information being spread across it is to limit the amount of money being distributed through it. Even our government isn't that stupid.
ITLL NEVAR HAPEN!!!! THEY HAVE BEN SAYIN IT WILL HAPPEN 4 EVER LOL IT WONT DONT WORRY THEY HAVE BEEN AFRAID OF THIS FOR LIKE A HUNDERD YEARZ
Please tell me thats only in America
Yep, then Australia, and then other countries get interested and join the bandwagon. The world is so controlled, i'm surprised i'm allowed to walk out the front door without some fucking permit.
Probably won't happen. If this happens, it will probably be reversed almost instantly anyway. The entire country would go batfuck insane and major Internet-based companies would lose a lot of profits.
If this goes ahead I'm going to organize FPers to lay fiber cable all over the US for cheap bandwidth. We'll call it the outernet, and I'll make a thread about it in hardware and software.
i'm sure a bunch of fourteen year olds have money to build such an infrastructure
Nothing is going to happen. Just stop your worrying. I honestly cannot see this working at the slightest.
2012 = Internet gets shut off, fanboys, channers, shut-ins and furrys declare WW3.
Its not going to happen, and even if it did it would probably be for security purposes such as preventing cyberterrorists or something that would do great harm to all computers.
Its not going to happen, and even if it did it would probably be for security purposes such as preventing cyberterrorists or something that would do great harm to all computers.
No it wouldn't :what:
I want this to happen just to see /b/'s reaction. Actually, no I don't. But I still want to see /b/'s reaction.
Fear it.
I would Commit suicide if they are going to do shit like that.
The fact that we're able to share opinions about an issue like this, with people from all over the planet is a wondrous thing. It's like a true democracy, with everyone able to put forward their opinions. Taking that away is the first step towards dystopia. They'll just. I mean. Wow. I can't even think of it.
Well, I keep on saying this, but people need to pick up their torches, pitchforks and AK's, and put an end to this nonsense.
Boycott.
