Will we be sued? Plausible.
Will our insurance agent be happy? Busted.
Hope this doesn't affect the show negatively.
What are the chances that it hits a house and a minivan, and does not injure anyone?! Lucky them :v:.
Someday, some myth, someone will be hurt from Murphy's Law.
I know the guy who lives next to the person who got hit, better picture, they're freaking out.
Guys, it's mythbusters. Shit like this happens.
When's the last time they mis-fired a Civil War era cannon through a neighborhood?
They blow out peoples windows with an explosion now they're putting cannonballs through walls, wonder what's next
*Press Release*
Civil war cannon ball eh? So something like this then:
They're going to my brother's town. I better tell him to board up his windows.
I don't know how much good it would do him. The thing went through two goddamn walls.
The pictures (which look fake to me) show the hole in what looks to be a 2nd story window. Not only do the mythbusters preform tests like this out in the middle of nowhere, (no where NEAR a community) I can't find any other sources.
I'm calling a fake, anyone else?
The cannon mis-fired and the shell bounced. They bounce, it's what makes them so lethal.

But really, since when are bomb ranges that close to houses?
[editline]EDIT:[/editline] Apparently they are...
You underestimate the kind of power a black powder gun has, by a lot. My largest Matchlock can toss something that weighs more than I do and it fires a 3 oz ball.
Heck, a musket loaded with a candle can go through a piece of wood (a foot away).
House, busted!

No, it's not fake. My entire town is exploding about this over facebook, and the only thing stopping me from driving down and taking a picture of my own is the fact that I'm 300 miles away at Uni.
so why the hell was the house built near the Alameda Bomb range?

Oh wow that is really dangerous.
I'm wondering why they were firing a cannon on a bomb range instead of some place actually designed for shooting long range projectiles
Seems negligent

Probably due to the fact that a misfiring cannon (catastrophic) is better suited on a bomb range than a gun range.

Yeah, the salt flats where they tested the rocket car and the Civil War rocket probably would've been better.

It's surprising, really. Jamie and Adam always planned everything to the hilt; intentional negligence doesn't seem to be part of their vocabulary.

Their show seems like it would be really expensive, I wonder how much Discovery has them cutting corners.

That is some shitty web design.

With the exception of bombastic stunts like the Rocket Car at the start of Season 7, I don't think the show is actually all that expensive. Many of the materials they use are difficult for just anyone to get their hands on, but not necessarily all that pricey.
What would happen if this killed somebody?
What would happen if this killed somebody?
This would be less awesome and more horrifying.
Honestly, that's a pretty obvious question :v:
