Why do all games nowadays need DLC. Just ship the game with it all for fucks sake
DLC is SUPPOSED to be developed after the game has been released to increase profits for the creator and make the game last longer for the consumer. THAT type of DLC is good. But recently a lot of games have been cutting content from the finished version and releasing it day 1 or like a week later. That means the consumer is essentially getting scammed, seeing as they payed for the game but didn't get all it was supposed to come with.
It's not like you have to do this. Sure it's fucking stupid to have it in the first place, but who really cares about in-game currency in a game like Assassin's Creed? You can play the game without buying a single thing, anything you NEED the money is usually given to you through cutscenes and events.
If this is for singleplayer I'm fine. Otherwise fuck off ubisoft.
How could you be fine with this? It's probably cut content, we should tell them to fuck off instead even if it's for Singleplayer.
Hats
I just assumed that doing this would get you the in-game currency that you get from completing missions and pickpocketing people. You'd have to be an incredibly lazy and retarded person to buy that, but still.
This isn't mandatory or necessary, so it doesn't bug me. Sure its dumb, but its in no way pay to win. And the people who usually buy this sort of thing really aren't a problem in game.
You guys and your raging over them selling items for the online portion. Honestly, who gives a fuck? It will be dead within 3 months and the game's mainly for single player. And getting mad over this when we don't even have any idea on what this will really affect and only know that a currency EXISTS.
Who wants to bet it's hard as shit to get assassin's fun dollars with normal gameplay without getting bored enough to go "okay fuck I give up have your money microsoft"
Assassins greed.
As bad as this is, think of it this way: Who really buys AC3 for the multiplayer.
On a side-topic, isn't Erudito the person / group that helps you Project Legacy and in Brotherhood?
As bad as this is, think of it this way: Who really buys AC3 for the multiplayer.
thats like buying porn for the story [editline]29th October 2012[/editline] or buying weed for the medical benefits when your healthy
Protip: Use a trainer instead
Protip: Use a trainer instead
I am going to assume premium currency is stored through your account, not clientside. Clientside would be retarded.
I am going to assume premium currency is stored through your account, not clientside. Clientside would be retarded.
I think he thinks this is for singleplayer
As dumb as Ubisoft is sometimes, they wouldn't put an option to buy ingame currency with real money for singleplayer. EA on the other hand did this with the godfather. [editline]29th October 2012[/editline] And seriously. Assassins creed multiplayer is a joke and exists only to say it does.
I laughed when I saw the advert for AC3 it looks terrible
I laughed when I saw the advert for AC3 it looks terrible
The only assassins creed titles on the main platforms that could be described as Terrible is probably only the first one. That's mainly because of it being the first of its kind and there wasn't that great of direction in it. They fixed pretty much everything and it's a really solid, well produced series that I can't recommend enough.
AC1 was very unique but, unlike the others, every single assassination is basically the same thing :v:
It was more of a proof of concept game that really took off. I'd say mirrors edge is in the same category somewhat. [editline]30th October 2012[/editline] Like. I wouldn't be surprised if it started out as a tech demo for their engine.
no one is forcing you to buy these?? i don't get you guys

A DLC may come out on Day 1 that was made from scratch since the game was finished. How was that "Supposed" to be in at all?
If it's just items that are already in the game and you just pay to unlock them early, I've never really had a problem with that if they're balanced. Unlocking stuff is part of the fun so I would say those people lose out if anything.
Still not as bad as TF2, where hats go for $1000
It's just for multiplayer, so I don't really care anyways.
no one is forcing you to buy these?? i don't get you guys
What a great argument, it's like you read it somewhere on the steam forums. Off course we won't buy it, it's fucking stupid, that's the point.
No. A game is finished months before it's released. A DLC may come out on Day 1 that was made from scratch since the game was finished. How was that "Supposed" to be in at all?
It's not really finished "months' before a game is released. A game usually goes gold a month to three weeks before a game is released, and the time is spent mainly bug hunting and polishing. The games are then processed and disks burned, it's why there's day one patches. All the currency based dlc is, is for multiplayer items. EA does it, as do most companies now.
As long as the microtransactions don't affect singleplayer I don't care.
Still not as bad as TF2, where hats go for $1000
except those are legit buyers that are doing it as a hobby (even though they're fucking PIXELS) and hats are purely appearance and don't make the game shit [editline]29th October 2012[/editline] infact added guns make it waaay better

Its why I stopped playing.
