"More kids spamming up my wall" Ok then I don't know about you but I don't go 'round adding 11-year-olds to Facebook.
It's put there to legally cover their asses. They are required by US law to put that on their site.
uh i know
Facebook is an american company and they need to follow american laws. They are required by US law to at least attempt to keep 13 year olds off the site (even though a lot of them lie to get around the filter) It's put there to legally cover their asses. They are required by US law to put that on their site. Film Release date October 1, 2010 September 22, 2010 7:02 PM PDT Zuckerberg pledges $100m to Newark, N.J., schools http://www.nytimes.com/2010/09/23/education/23newark.html September comes before October
The film was known for months before to be a serious critisim of Zuckerberg. If you look at most of the articles written days after the donation was made, they make references to the film being "a looming spectre" etc. And my self, I had heard before the films release that it wasn't going to be too nice. This was established. He was pressured into making the donation by Governor Christie and the Mayor. Not only that, his justification is bullshit: "Like any startup, the key to making this work is finding great leaders and the right market that’s ready for change." He thinks education is a market and some sort of cash-cow. He goes on about this for like a paragraph in his blog post. So no, I'm not going to give him credit. I'm glad he made a startup programme, but it doesn't make me think any better of him. He has enough money to waste to do things for selfish reasons.

Can't you just think that maybe he's a nice guy? No, right? Sure he might be a douchebag maybe, (I personally don't really look up Zuckerberg's endeavors) but he is still able to do things just to be nice
He earned his living off stealing and selling private information to greedy people. He's a petty thief is what he is.
then what are the tobacco manufacturers? or car sellers? :v:

It's clear he was doing it to cover his ass. Even then, it doesn't make me think any more of him. Throwing money at things doesn't make them work, especially when you think education can be a business.
Huh. His reasoning on the education end doesnt sound bad. Ive had times during high school that ive forgotten the homework or cant figure something out,and just posted on facebook lookin for help and almost always got it. The logic seems sound, but it would have to be done properly. [editline]22nd May 2011[/editline] But of course it should be down to the parents.
He's also trying to introduce more business into education, that just ends in disaster.
