To back up my points on how important it is to both educate sub-Saharan Africans and to circumcise them (though it should remain voluntary), here is a graph showing the life expectancy of some of the countries hardest hit by HIV. Can you guess when it came?

you do know that by simply promoting safe sex using condoms you completely remove the need of a circumcision to reduce your HIV risk? although condoms may be less accessible in poverty-stricken countries, it doesn't mean circumcision is a rational choice in countries where condoms are bountiful and you can shower like you're supposed to. Surely an unwashed circumcised dick is as gross as an uncircumcised unwashed one.

Circumcision may be a valid choice to promote in african countries, but it's useless in the rest of the civilized world.

This times a million. In high-risk populations such as sub-saharan African countries the WHO and other medical organizations have actually deemed it to be cost-effective and a useful tool as access to contraception and other preventative measures are lacking in comparison to developed countries. For developed countries there is no distinct consensus of whether or not it's useful (there are studies both FOR and AGAINST, this article included).

Several reasons exist for circumcision, but ultimately the greatest calling force against it, is the matter of free choice and the morality of doing something to a child who cannot voice their opinion on the matter.
Such a thing is why we have such a great deal of arguing regarding this, and I think it goes without saying that the easiest way to deal with all these problems is to just simply allow people to decide whether or not they wish to be circumcised by the age of 16, and show them the benefits, and the negatives of circumcision.

Also for anyone who's shouting, "Well condoms reduce the risk of HIV 100%" we have a wonderful issue in today's world where people want more sexual pleasure, and therefore just drop the condom all together. Hell I know a few chicks who sometimes refuse to have sex with a guy wearing a condom, because it removes something from it or something or another. Humans are stupid. What else is new?

Considering that most people on this board would be born somewhere around the mid-90's, their doctors were their only source for medical info due to lack of internet access anyway. Its not like they knew any better if the father was circumcised as well and circumcising children was considered standard procedure to baby boys. So doctors always recommended it.

It usually does, so its a bad example. I personally believe that the reason why circumcision was such a huge problem in the US was because nobody knew any better. Doctors were taught to circumcise children, and parents would obviously believe its best for the child. Its just misinformation and "hurr-durr traditshun" at its finest.
