Maybe if you did the research you would have learned that the person who said that,Stanislas Mettra
the creative director of Darkworks Studios, the original devs of I Am Alive was the one who said that.
I don't care who said it and I knew that it wasn't a Ubisoft spokesperson beforehand. The developers of I Am Alive were working for Ubisoft, on their dime. The person who said this, insulted a majority of their customers should have been reprimanded or even fired.
Since he wasn't, I'm going to assume Ubisoft didn't care about his comments and I doubt they feel any different about the PC users.
Before everyone kisses Ubisoft's ass, remember "Quit bitching about no PC port of I Am Alive because you would've pirated it anyways"

so because one developer that happened to have their game published by ubisoft has a dumb stance on pc gaming that means the upper management of ubisoft or even ubisoft as a whole has the exact same views despite their recent actions being the completely contrary to those views.
i don't mind a bit of skepticism, but that's far from solid proof that this is just a lie for the sake of pr or whatever.

Does that matter? Look at how they've been doing since.
They have continued their draconian DRM and pushed their third party platform which users completely hate. Assassin's Creed Brotherhood was a joke on the PC. They promised that Assassins Creed 3 would come out on the same day as their console counterparts and that didn't happen. They released Rayman Legends a couple months after its console counterparts.
They have refused to release PC collector's editions even though it's a simple "put the PC version into the box instead of a console version". They have released terrible console ports. They ended up releasing I Am Alive on the PC ironically, expecting the more than what the consoles were paying at the time and equivalent to what console players paid almost a year prior. They release inferior PC copies of games while the consoles get more content and even console exclusive content which has never come to the PC. Reference: Far Cry 3, Assassin's Creed 3, Rocksmith.
Fuck Ubisoft.

Actually, when that was said I Am Alive was still a Darkworks production, you can thank Ubisoft for there being a PC version. Instead of being so ignorant.

Far Cry 3 and Assassins Creed 3 were fine ports, and Far Cry was released at the same time as consoles, and both have no console exclusive content as of now. Cant speak for Rocksmith seeing how I never played it. Also Assassins Creed and Far Cry have pc collectors editions.
Please get your facts straight before going on bad rants.

Uplay isn't half bad anymore, AC:Brotherhood was just as stable as any other game in the AC2 Trilogy, delays happen, clearly with good reason for AC3 on the PC. It was rather unstable on many configurations upon it's PC release to begin with, I could only imagine how unstable. It's not a bad thing for them to take the time to properly port their games to the PC, and in most instances they do a good job at doing so. That's odd, I don't recall investing in a Ubisoft product on the PC that was inferior to console release, perhaps some performance issues here and there, but nothing that doesn't get fixed in the long run. Every Single piece of AC3 and and Far Cry 3 DLC that came out for the console is also on the PC, excluding the extra mission that PS3 players got for pre ordering, which is still a timed PS3 exclusive and will eventually release on the PC.
Don't like ubisoft, go complain about it where it's relevant.
Oh I forgot to add the fact there is AC3 and FC3 Collectors editions on the PC, the boxes are sitting right across from me on stacked on the floor. Get your facts straight before you bitch.

I never said Far Cry 3 didn't come out on the same day. Also there was no collector's editions for the PC. Guess I was wrong about Assassin's Creed 3, since there is a UbiWorkshop collector's edition that does have a PC option but that still doesn't excuse three different collector's edition sets. That's ridiculous and unheard of.
As for Far Cry 3 and the insane edition, we never got that in the United States.

We may not have gotten the "get some stuff that will gather dust on your shelves" edition, but we got a deluxe edition with all the ingame content.

The digital deluxe edition? Yeah I'm talking about physical collector's editions so it's kind of irrelevant.

Purchase through Steam - install redistributable software extensions, launches uPlay - log into uPlay is inexcusable.
I will admit, I am wrong, I haven't kept up on the DLC situation.
Ubisoft needs to stop with the uPlay shit because it uses a lot of unnecessary processing power, the integration is terrible and anyone that defends uPlay would still prefer that it was integrated through Steam with SteamWorks. At most, people "don't mind it".
I've never had any issues with uPlay.
It works, it does its' job, it's not too slow.
If Uplay uses "a lot of unnecessary processing power" on your computer you must be several generations out of date on your hardware. Uplay has evolved into something that's decent.

What is its job though? Social Hub? Steam does it and Steam does it better.
DRM? I recall all these games leaking early and being cracked, (Rayman Legends and Far Cry 3) so again, Steam does it better.
Unlockable content? Through SteamWorks, they could code the game to give "points" for doing achievements so it's completely unnecessary and SteamWorks would mean total integration, which is what people want.
Store Front? Why should I be forced to log into yet another account to play a game I purchased through Steam? Ridiculous.

They you shouldn't be complaining, Uplay barely takes up any resources. most of seen it do it 8mb of memory and 0.6% on CPU.

It's a reported problem by many users that uPlay as a background service is using WAY too much CPU utilization meaning it is an inconvenience for the customer. As I stated before, anything uPlay does, Steam does better and at most, "people don't mind it".

Good for you. Go tell everyone on the Ubisoft forums that has these problems that they shouldn't be having these problems either. I'm sure that will go over well.
Yeah I can't say I'm a huge fan of uplay. It runs poorly and the interface is a mess. Origin and Steam are both fine programs, and I love Ubisoft, just not their new download service thing.
Frankly they can go without Uplay, but it's much more improved than it used to be and is no longer and issue. Now I do believe this was the watchdogs PC lead thread so i'm getting back to that.
I can't wait to get my hand on it at E3 and PAX. I wonder if they'll be showing of live gameplay at PAX East, can't wait to see it first hand.

If you find uPlay is causing you performance issues by taking up a meagre number of CPU cycles, especially compared to the behemoth that is Steam, then you have bigger issues than uPlay.
And I'd rather not have everything tied to Steam thanks, Steam isn't exactly perfect, let alone usable some times (seriously, a client should not freeze when trying to work out what to update, and it most certainly shouldn't be trying to download a game I've already installed). Pushing for everything on Steam is not the greatest idea.

Stop being a white knight. They're a billion dollar company. They don't need Delta616 defending them on a Facepunch thread.
Im putting my money on a Christmas release date as thats when the Ps4 is supposedly going to be released.

Steam isn't perfect but when it achieves to do everything uPlay attempts to do more efficiently, I think it's time to admit defeat and time to adopt the standard. Am I saying competition is bad? No, but selling your game through your competitor and expecting users to log-in and use your (currently) inferior service definitely is.

Ubisoft clearly isn't competing with Steam. But they are sure as hell allowed to use their own platform. You want to keep this going start a Uplay debate thread.
