A hilarious but sadly true example of this is a Dutch tradition called "Sinterklaas". He's got a bunch of helpers/servants called "Black Pete". A year or 2 ago a group of people tried to get that name changed because it was racist as all hell according to them. Want to know why they're called Black Pete?
