Pretty cool how there were no work injuries though
All injuries were sent to work in the mines, as were their families and any coworkers who saw the injury occur.
I'll be more amazed if it stand for more than 6 days.
Why so much China bashing? It seems as if a lot of people in this thread are taking shots at China...
Here are the facts. I was born in China and visit there frequently. Yes, political discussion and freedom of speech is not guaranteed. Yes, the search engine there (Baidu) does not turn up links for a search of "Tienanmen Square." But you have to respect China for the progress they've made. For the last 2 centuries China has been invaded, occupied, and suffered terrible war crimes specifically under the Japanese and the British, and even the US and western nations. My family has a lot of pride in being Chinese because we know the hardships my previous generations have suffered and how much we have today. So please, if you hate China because of all the "slave labor" and unchecked, unscrupulous ambition, take a look at Chinese history and remember that China is still in a period of industrialization.
China-The New Sim City.

Thank you so much for saying that :buddy:
Goes as fast as a skyscraper in Sim City 4 is built.
Wow.
Over 20 years after developing the PERFECT amount of residential, industrial, and commercial lots?
suffered terrible war crimes specifically under the Japanese and the British, and even the US and western nations
What. I've never heard of Warcrimes committed against China from Britain or the US.
The time-lapse made me think of a minecraft building project for some reason
Gotta love functionalism.
And I'm pretty sure it's safe. Constructing an unsafe building is actually more expensive than constructing a safe.
ITT USA kids who dislike China becoming the worlds new largest superpower get jealous and bash Chinese quick and efficient construction techniques while themselves know absolutely dick all about construction.
Do you guys really think the team working on this didn't know what they were doing? This was a prototype in sustainable building that was filmed to showcase to the world what the pinnacle of safe and efficient Chinese construction is capable of. Pretty sure they know its safe.
god damn everyone in this thread is really, really dumb.
gunfox's post was especially bad
I could do this with LEGO, although on a smaller scale. Basically the same thing considering they used prebuilt parts.

Gunfox is an American exceptionalist, what did you expect?
Gunfox is an American exceptionalist, what did you expect?
the only things he knows about are guns and military
How does it look on the inside?
Not very impressive, all the parts were prefabricated.
Which means you can construct most of the building extremely fast in a dedicated factory.
I don't get what's surprising here. China has been kicking the worlds ass at manual labor since the US moved their factories out of the rest of Asia. The majority of the first world stopped advancing in manual labor because these countries have pesky laws about human rights, minimum wage and unions.
I'm glad, for China's sake, they have a niche in the world economy as "cheap labor". But as it stands, the Chinese people themselves live a quality of life significantly worse than the superpower they are going to usurp. I don't see how pre fab hotels are going to change that, as awesome a feat as they are. What the Chinese need is the formation of a middle class and a growing service industry.

This isn't a good thing.
Takes about 14 months to build a small storage apartment building in my town, they work from 5am to 5pm, and its only 6 storages high.
These guys did something ALOT bigger in 15 days.
This isn't a good thing.
Minimum wage, human rights and worker advocacy groups aren't good things? Or should we overlook manufacturers rights in favor of cheaper products?
This is like a 8 story western hotel :v:
I'm surprised there wasn't a drone that just ran over there, plopped into the ground, then began growing into a building.

Terran =/= China
Why do we use mexicans?
Must've used Cuboid.
Dear world:
Yes. We get it. The WONDERS of what you can do with a ridiculously large population and virtually no limitations on government.
I am not impressed by a bunch of underpaid workers with absolutely zero freedom constructing a building in six days out of fucking prefabricated parts. It's a giant fucking testament to WHY China should not be allowed to joint he rest of the fucking world in its current state.
This should be viewed as a cry for goddamn help by the Chinese people. Not praised.
Sincerely, The People.

He was referring to the stopping of manual labour.

What you said was true, but largely exaggerated. China has been doing very well since 2003. I have relatives from Shanghai, they like it and are doing fine.
He was referring to the stopping of manual labour.
The only two solutions to the manual labor problem are increased prices or decreased human rights.
Or replacing everyone with robots.
