that they don't have male priests.
Fuck that fucking Christian hypocrite.
Well God did say, "Go forth and multiply"
But 9 billion and counting? I don't think God wanted that.
In fact, the more people, the more trouble.
Shit I thought he was talking about math.
I'm terrible at math, if it's for that, I'm going straight to hell
Anyone got reminded of Shoot em up?
See, at least in a brothel, people could keep an eye on things and be able to tell if there was abuse. You can't do that easily on the streets.
But 9 billion and counting? I don't think God wanted that.

Fuck me there's been an influx of newborn children this past couple of days! Almost 2 billion!
Every church does this, this one just does it with adults which seems to be forbidden.
Suddenly I have an interest in religion again.
Whatever happened to freedom of religon?
If it is their religion, and who are you to say it isn't, should they not be allowed to practice it provided they remain healthy and pay taxes?
HMMMMM GOVERNMENT?
read it again, says that it doesn't allow for criminal actions.
read it again, says that it doesn't allow for criminal actions.
And how is sex criminal?
Who cares what two consenting adults do?
And suddenly we are back to Christianity.
And how is sex criminal?

Sex is legal, prostitution is not.
As soon as you pay for having sex, you're in trouble.
Unless you film it.
Then it's simply porn :v:
And how is sex criminal?

Prostitution is criminal.
Not saying it should be, or whether this church should have been left alone, I'm saying that the law says it shouldn't.
Also, consent doesn't make the action right. A baby sure as fuck doesn't to get a flu shot but you make him do it. You put people in prison even if they don't want to. Fuck, if suddenly everyone in the human race wanted to off itself, there would be no problem in doing it.
Not to mention that everything you do affects others.

It's still prostitution unless someone pays two people to have sex. Which is kind of fucked up because it still prostitution.

First amendment also prohibits passing laws establishing a certain religion. Given the fact that regulated prostitution is a business like any other, making it illegal links back to establishing a state religion by passing laws to disable others.

You never got to the part where prostitution is wrong.
Here, I'll get you started:
"Prostitution is wrong because....."
Killing people for profit is also a business, making a law against it isn't religion.
And it isn't.
First amendment also prohibits passing laws establishing a certain religion. Given the fact that regulated prostitution is a business like any other, making it illegal links back to establishing a state religion by passing laws to disable others.

Yeah, which is exactly why the Church should be punished. Why should this Church in particular be above the law? Isn't the government suppose to not let any religion be above the law? Why should this religion be above the law? Prostitution is against the law and the people of this Church have committed a crime. If a Christian, Jewish, or Buddhist group ran a prostitution ring, they would also be charged with crime. The government should treat all religions equally. By letting this Church get away, the government would be condoning the crime and supporting the religion, thus violating the First Amendment.
What MountainWatcher and others are trying to say, is that religion shouldn't be able to override the law. According to your logic, it should be acceptable to start a religion to kill random people just for the lulz.
As for laws against prostitution being influenced by Christian state religions, I'm pretty sure you could find anyone (whether it be atheist, Jew, Muslim, Christian, etc.) who would probably think prostitution is bad. This is just something that religion and people's moral beliefs kind of agree on.
Whatever happened to freedom of religon?

But prostitution is illegal, isn't it?
Well fuck being athyest let me just pack my bags and go buy a bible.

Killing impedes on the rights of the person killed.
Prostitution impedes on the rights of _______
And how is sex criminal?

If prostitution was legal and tax-liable I think the overall outcome would be beneficial for the state and everyone else. Speaking of which, doesn't Germany have this already?
Killing impedes on the rights of the person killed.

First of all, of the people who don't want prostitution.
And it doesn't matter, I'm contesting what Gunfox said, I'm not actually defending the example.
Couldn't they just say that the people paying for sex weren't purchasing sex at all, they were just donating to the church?
Completely agree, for thousands of years there have been temple sex workers and you were expected to donate. I see absolutely nothing wrong with that.
yay phoenix whore temples for life. Thats why all the prostitutes went from van buren street to there hmmmmmm?
They sure would make a believer out of me :v:

BTW, this isn't really new... check out "flirty fishing" (a.k.a. FFing)
There are enough people who find prostitution (and gay marriage, and abortion) distasteful to keep it from becoming legal abroad. It's not about the "inherent rights of man." Never has been, and probably never will be. The ability to vote for the good of a nation, or state, or city above one's own interests or beliefs does not come easily.
Maybe I'm a selfish bigot, but I would not vote to legalize prostitution. Not because I disagree with a man or woman's "right" to sell his/her body, but because I don't want to.
P.S. Leave it to the individual states to decide? I don't see why one state's majority population should force a view on another state's.
Let's refuse to pay the government, bypass their regulations, and call it religion!
Let's refuse to pay the government, bypass their regulations, and call it religion!
It'll be great because it'll be tax exempt :v:
are brothels illegal in america? they arent here
But prostitution is illegal, isn't it?
Because of another religion.
Hence the problem.
[editline]11th September 2011[/editline]
are brothels illegal in america? they arent here
Prostitution laws are determined on a state by state basis. Some allow street prostitution, some allow brothels, most outlaw it completely.
