I know a popular sentiment amongst conservatives following the 2012 election was that their guy lost because he was too moderate. Which is hilarious.
No, the popular sentiment amongst conservatives is that he didn't have a real plan, and his entire campaign was dedicated to smearing Obama instead of putting a good plan forward. Which is why conservatives get pissed off when people listen to Karl Rove, especially when he pushed someone like Mitt Romney saying he's the only guy who can win.

That 'binders full of women' debacle didn't help. Somehow Romney listening to women's groups complaining about lack of representation in his cabinet became him batting women or something.
That 'binders full of women' debacle didn't help. Somehow Romney listening to women's groups complaining about lack of representation in his cabinet became him batting women or something.
I agree. I don't understand how "binders full of women" was offensive in the slightest. People who took offense to it have a double digit IQ.
And don't forget that awful "Romney killed my wife because I worked for a company he used to own and she left her job after he left his and didn't have insurance."
romney and obama are both quasi-fascists who serve the elite in the united states
Do you ever make posts that aren't completely insane?
Do you ever make posts that aren't completely insane?
sry i didn't mean to say quasi-fascist, that would imply they aren't close to fascism. they are fascist-lite.
sry i didn't mean to say quasi-fascist, that would imply they aren't close to fascism. they are fascist-lite.
Name one fascist quality of Obama.
Name one fascist quality of Obama.
assassination program. corporatist economic policy(including the bailout). repression and oppression regarding dissent. the healthcare law.
yawmwen doesn't know what fascist means
assassination program. corporatist economic policy(including the bailout). repression and oppression regarding dissent. the healthcare law.
Even if we accept all of those claims, none of them are exclusive to fascism. [editline]6th December 2013[/editline]
yawmwen doesn't know what fascist means
No, the sad part is that he does know what it is. He just used it as a buzzword to give his post some teeth.
Even if we accept all of those claims, none of them are exclusive to fascism.
that's why i didn't say there actually were fascist. fascism is an actual ideology. the policies put in place resemble fascist ideas.
assassination program. corporatist economic policy(including the bailout). repression and oppression regarding dissent. the healthcare law.
Let me help you out. You're welcome.
that's why i didn't say there actually were fascist. fascism is an actual ideology. the policies put in place resemble fascist ideas.
That's a useless way of thinking. You could apply the term "fascist lite" to almost anyone if you just have to find a few vague overlaps between policies.

You're welcome.
yea i'm familiar with fascism which is why i compared policies put in place in an authoritarian corporatist state to fascism, because they resemble each other in many ways. but noooooo can't compare land of the free, the place where the eagles shit pure liberty, with anything remotely resembling authoritarian politics because then you are saying that obama is literally hitler.
yea i'm familiar with fascism which is why i compared policies put in place in an authoritarian corporatist state to fascism, because they resemble each other in many ways. but noooooo can't compare land of the free, the place where the eagles shit pure liberty, with anything remotely resembling authoritarian politics because then you are saying that obama is literally hitler. it just so happens you can find specific overlaps with the united states.
This is not rational argument, this is rhetoric. Corporate bailouts are corrupt and hawkish foreign policy is authoritarian and neither of them are good, but neither of them are exclusive to fascism either. I could call Gary Johnson a Pinochetist for wanting to privatize social security.
Yeah, it's nice that he pays it lip service, but nothing is actually going to change. The GOP has declared his entire second term to be an irrelevant lame duck administration and they're just keeping anything from changing until they regain the White House.
it just so happens you can find specific overlaps with the united states.
Like I said, it's a useless way of thinking because it can be applied to anyone/any country ever.

[editline]7th December 2013[/editline] it just so happens you can find specific overlaps with the united states.
Are you getting fascism confused with socialism?
Like I said, it's a useless way of thinking because it can be applied to anyone/any country ever.
not really, and not in the same ways.
Are you getting fascism confused with socialism?
no. socialism can be authoritarian as well but it is separate from fascism in a lot of ways. the way the united states operates is startlingly close to fascism. the people in charge don't subscribe to fascist ideology, but the ways power is used and retained in the system is quite authoritarian-right in nature.

The "I don't care about the very rich or very poor" during a time when Occupy Wallstreet was hourly news was a very dumb move on his and his PR teams part. Binders full of women and his prior business dealings were sideshow attractions to him seemingly establishing himself as a rich elitist ignorant to the demands of lower and middle class voters.
You guys do know about third parties right? Even I voted Green in 2012. If any of you dare say "why vote for a 3rd party if they never win?" I will [sp]creampie your asshole[/sp]
It is a wasted vote, for institutional reasons. The two major parties would have to support major reforms to make a third party viable. *Bends over and presents*
excellent use of the word 'literally'
Oh my God, that post is literally Hitler.
