I actually doubt there's any specific legislation as far as tips go, overall I'd expect it at best to show up as standard practice, but it's completely possible they did have it stipulated in the contract before hand.

Depends if they lie on the show or not. If everything they show is factual, then they are covered and won't have issues. If they instead start fabricating stuff....

There's also the point where the contract between the owners and the show probably gives some freedom as well.

Yeah American Reality TV likes to overdramatise everything. And if there's no drama, they'll imply drama. It's why I don't watch it, it's dumb. There are some good ideas for shows out there but I hate the execution.

The thing that bugs me the most about Samy is his name. If you're gonna pronounce it like that, it's Sammy, not Samy. Samy would be pronounced like same-y.
