Why even "Donate", there are plenty of charities helping out the crisis in the Philippines. Obviously more people are going to buy from the auction because its Kim, if people wanted to really donate they would go to the charities. The implication on the original post is that an item that she paid, I don't know, $100 for could sell for $150, making her a profit even after the charitable donation

It's quite difficult on how to deal with this. The fact she chose such a small percentage seems like a greedy thing but it's still going to be quite a lot of money. I reckon most people would have picked a higher percentage to give away but there's also quite a lot of people who don't give anything at all.

Every penny I guess... still, she should at least go halfway. Since it's not like she is terribly strapped for cash.

Who cares if she got more money. At the end of the day she gets more money and she donates 10% while you guys sit here and complain. Anything less than 51% should be required to mark the percentage before they can even use the word "charity". For instance, her sale would be marked as "10% of the proceeds go to aid for the Philippines" instead of "Charity sale for the Philippines!".
