I'm pretty sure if Apple continues this, the people who decided to withhold the evidence can, and possibly will be charged with obstruction of justice by the FBI.
Tbh i'm surprised Apple haven't had their offices raided yet.
This is all manufactured controversy. The mass shooter already destroyed their personal phone, the one they're trying to get into is a work phone that was already monitored by surveillance software installed by the issuer. This is mostly to discourage china from doing the same thing.
