You think it is bad now? Wait till the summer hits. Everyone is going to go bat shit crazy.
It rained non stop last week and apparently will next week in Arcata.
Damn; all my puns on this issue have gone dry.
as a western Washington resident I don't understand drought, but I've heard from cali family that it definitely is really bad. you guys can take the next big rain that we have, free of charge just come pick it up
Good news is we're getting some decent precipitation over the past couple days in the Sierra foothills over here, yet we still need constant rain until the end of May to achieve even average levels. Now I'm worried about fire season.

We're drowning in rain and this is still the driest winter I've seen in at least 15 years here in sw Washington.

We did go like a month and a half without rain though. Then we got over a foot of snow in less than 48 hours.:v:
Finally some rain(That I missed due to sleep), hopefully it keeps comin down
Is this due to climate change?

Yup, pouring right now. Hooray!
Serious storm last night but all it probably did was allow us to shower another time
Been getting some light rain in NorCal but nothing special.

No doubt. Although to compare this year to last and claim "climate change!" would be naieve. It's only going to get worse and worse unless carbon emissions are lessened.
Nothing a good El Niño won't fix.
We're due for another one pretty soon anyway.

Personally, I'm more worried about species extinction than carbon emissions.
It's coming down now, winds whipping 20-30mph as well
oh man this is the best / worst time to be driving a rwd sports car with wide tires and aero parts
i'm slidin' everywhere but i'm just trying to get to work
love this weather regardless, just makes 98% of the drivers here in southern california 100% worse at driving
The rain came pouring down here in the San Joaquin county yesterday. It was nice, but definitely not enough.
o shit it just started to rain hard, yesterday it was awesome wind and rain but now its just raining hard.
It rained fucking hard here in San Bernardino but it stopped for now hope it starts up again.
Hi-Desert got hit good enough, now with the heat like it's spring, everything's going to start growing again. The desert will be green for a while.

yeah if your area still has those above the ground power poles, you lose power every time the rain season comes because idiots crashing into them
I just don't understand why it's so hard for people to drive slower, not take sharp turns, and turn on their headlights when it rains

its like when you put a southerner on any amount of snow, they will always crash and burn for no apparent reason, even going in a straight line they'll figure out how to spin off, so glad i live in a state that has not only extreme heat but also extreme cold

wait that sounds god awful
So San Diego has seen some rain for the past few days. It wasn't constant downpour, but there were times when it picked up for a bit then went back to light sprinkling. But every little bit helps I suppose.
Looks like nature did its job, its been raining pretty damned hard all day today.
Is this due to climate change?
In part, yes.
But places like California, Nevada, and Utah often get wet and dry spells. But Utah is heading into a long drought right now, so I assume California is as well.
I used to live in LA. I enjoyed the rain a lot. It was a rare event, kind of relaxing to listen to.
Then I move to the northeast and I'm wishing it would just kinda lay off, same with snow.
I also miss when 50 degree weather was newsworthy.

No. What happens is you get a drought, which kills off all the plantlife; then as soon as you get any rain the water has a much easier job of cutting through geography and causing floods and mudslides: we saw this last year in parts of Utah: lots of houses flooded.
