Huckabee, who has long opposed gay marriage, said Christian business owners, university presidents and school administrators could be inspired by how Martin Luther King Jr. pushed back during the civil rights movement, and that county clerks shouldn't have to carry out the Court's decision and issue marriage licenses for same-sex couples
[editline]28th June 2015[/editline] probably the most ridiculous thing I have read this year
In some parts of Alabama, the government is refusing to give marriage licenses to anybody. They're shutting down that entire part of their government just so they don't have to give licenses to gay couples. (I'd give links but I'm on mobile)
As I recall while he wasn't happy, didn't our governor already say they were going to follow the ruling?
I'm not actually from Alabama FYI, I just read about it online, but I think this is something they're doing on a county level, I saw some tweets from people saying that their county is proudly not giving out marriage licenses anymore This is not the source I had on my phone, but it's the same phenomenon I'm talking about
Serious question, can kids get into serious relationships?
I don't think you can determine the seriousness of a relationship based on a small drawing of two squids.
my favourite part about that is that everyone who made these thinks that it is completely acceptable to draw terriblely made pictures of prepubescent cartoon children in romantic relationships/getting married
imagine looking at harmless images of children and calling it child porn is there something you're not telling us?
Get a load of this one. Fresh off my feed
Now that most of the initial excitement and hysteria about the same-sex marriage decision from the Supreme Court has died down a bit; I would like to have an open dialog to help those who support gay marriage understand the Christian perspective. You are correct that the Christian perspective is one of morals and not of legal precedent. It is a precedent based on a proven foundation of family structure that many are not willing to see go without a fight. It is a based on our biblical morals where we draw a line in the sand. A line over which we sought to prevent gay marriage from crossing. But love is love, and ‪#‎LoveWins‬. So if the inability to have children is irrelevant, if we throw out the bible, and all it takes is two consenting adults; then why not legalize incestual marriage as well? Love is love right? And love wins? If you were for same-sex marriage and would support incestual marriage as well, then my point may be lost on you since you are already accepting, but what about the rest of you? Those of you who supported same-sex marriage, will you now support the rights of siblings to marry each other? What about a parent and their child? If we aren't concerned about procreation or what Christ considers sinful and it’s all about love, is the love of these other matchings any less valid? Regardless of your individual views on same-sex marraige. Is it acceptable for us, as a society, to ban victimless actions that we find immoral? A moral imperative is present in current laws. Recreational drug use laws support this assumption. It is a victimless crime that when used properly only affects the user, yet we have then banned based largely on moral grounds. The argument that "same-sex marriage won’t affect me so legalize it", is akin to saying "legalize recreational drug use because it won’t affect me”. Christians see this type of drug use as morally wrong, and society does too apparently due to the laws imposed on it. But while Christians try to remain morally sound with all issues sinful, society morally bans one but not the other? Christians base our morality on the biblical scriptures and those are often clearly defined limits. Now that this nation has crossed those lines where will you stop it? If love is love and #LoveWins, will you support all loving, consenting adults regardless of genetic relations? Will you also support legalization of recreational drugs, such as heroine or meth, because it doesn’t affect you? I don't expect this post to sway your views regarding same-sex marriage or gay rights; I simply hope this gives you some perspective as to why Christians choose to take the stance they have.
It sure shows me how Southern Christians are with their slippery slopes.
Get a load of this one. Fresh off my feed It sure shows me how Southern Christians are with their slippery slopes.
Please ask this guy if he'd be okay with me taking him as a slave, since the Bible permits taking slaves from neighbouring tribes but the Constitution and Bill of Rights sort of discourage that, and I like his old-fashioned way of thinking.
Get a load of this one. Fresh off my feed It sure shows me how Southern Christians are with their slippery slopes.
I like how he brings up Christians and scripture and moral imperatives to base our laws on scripture, invoking ideas of Immanuel Kant who notably argued that the morals of man were in fact NOT granted by God or biblical inspiration but actually from within man and the moral imperative was what caused us to band together and be nice to each other [editline]28th June 2015[/editline] It's like invoking Dawkins as a defense of creationism This is the limit of my philospophy knowledge but still funny how people quickly forget the founding principles of the arguments their using
I'M STILL CELEBRATING, THIS IS A HUGE MOMENT IN THE HISTORY OF THE US!
So everyone all over Facebook is giving themselves rainbow overlay profile pictures, so I thought I jump on the bandwagon! Wellp, my FB is full of retards posting some conservative blog article and talking about how "First the gays, next is the paedophiles." Type shit. It's literally "first gay marriage, next people will marry dogs" 2.0. How are these people capable of existing. If I were that stupid I'm sure I'd forget to breathe and suffocate.

My neighbor and his adult son are in love and they want to get married. Is this okay?" He made like 100 different versions of this exact post
I went to Pridefest in Saint Louis this weekend. There were at least 150,000 people! Probably closer to 200,000. One hell of a celebration. That's a great thing to see. So now that gay marriage is legal, when will gay divorce be legal?

Secondly, you shouldn't talk about "terribly made pictures" bro
